We are thrilled to welcome the talented Lorraine Toohey, our last resident of this season. It is a true honor to host an artist with such a profound and inspiring trajectory.

Lorraine is a Canadian mixed media artist with an inspiring career spanning over forty years. Since the 1980s, her practice has been in constant evolution, exploring the synergy between material, form, and philosophy. Her recent work has expanded into sculptural assemblage, moving beyond singular objects to create layered, multidimensional pieces.

Deeply influenced by nature, travel, and Buddhist principles, Lorraine’s art emphasizes balance, impermanence, and interconnectedness. Through an intuitive, process-driven approach, she creates work that invites quiet contemplation and a deeper awareness of the present moment.

Estamos muy emocionados de dar la bienvenida a la talentosa Lorraine Toohey, nuestra última residente de esta temporada. Es un verdadero honor recibir a una artista con una trayectoria tan profunda e inspiradora.

Lorraine es una artista canadiense de técnica mixta con una trayectoria admirable de más de cuatro décadas. Desde los años 80, su práctica ha evolucionado constantemente, explorando la relación entre el material, la forma y la filosofía. Su trabajo actual se expande hacia el ensamblaje escultórico, creando piezas multidimensionales que trascienden el objeto único.

Influenciada por la naturaleza, sus viajes y los principios budistas, Lorraine logra un equilibrio único que refleja la impermanencia y la interconectividad. A través de un enfoque intuitivo, sus obras invitan a la contemplación silenciosa y a una presencia profunda en el ahora.

Damos la bienvenida a Susette Kok a nuestra residencia en Casa Camino.

Radicada en Uruguay y de origen neerlandés, Susette es una artista que habita la intersección entre la imagen y la materia. Su proceso nace del encuentro íntimo con los territorios, utilizando la fotografía, la investigación documental y la cerámica para desenterrar historias de vida y transformarlas en piezas tangibles.

Tras su reciente paso por Jingdezhen, China —donde consolidó su trabajo en porcelana y representó a Uruguay en la Bienal Internacional de Cerámica 2023—, llega a nuestra comunidad para expandir la exploración material y temática que rige su trabajo, integrando nuevas historias a su lenguaje visual.

We are thrilled to welcome Susette Kok to our residency at Casa Camino

Based in Uruguay and originally from the Netherlands, Susette is an artist who dwells at the intersection of image and matter. Her process is born from intimate encounters with territories, using photography, documentary research, and ceramics to unearth life stories and transform them into tangible artifacts.

Following her recent time in Jingdezhen, China —where she refined her work in porcelain and represented Uruguay at the 2023 International Ceramics Biennale— she joins our community to expand the material and thematic exploration that drives her work, integrating new stories into her visual language.

We are honored to be a part of her creative journey.

We are delighted to welcome Sarah Martiny, our artist-in-residence to Casa Camino. During this residency, the studio becomes a space dedicated to deepening their artistic practice, inspired by the unique light and textures of the Atotonilco and San Miguel de Allende landscape.

From the rugged beauty of the high desert to the quiet wisdom of our local flora, we look forward to seeing how this environment shapes new works. We are honored to support your vision and can’t wait to see the creative journey unfold in harmony with the nature that surrounds us.

Este tiempo en el estudio será un espacio dedicado por completo a profundizar en su práctica artística, encontrando inspiración en la luz y las texturas únicas del paisaje de Atotonilco y San Miguel de Allende.
