Mexico could be preparing to welcome the world of club football once again 🇲🇽⚽🌎

President Claudia Sheinbaum has confirmed that Mexico is exploring the possibility of hosting the 2029 FIFA Club World Cup, with the government evaluating the proposal to ensure the event would bring benefits to the country.

Following the success of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which highlighted Mexico’s passion for football and brought global attention, officials believe another major tournament could create opportunities for tourism, investment, and international recognition.

No final decision has been made, and FIFA has not yet chosen the host nation for the 2029 competition. Mexico would compete with other interested countries before a final announcement.

If selected, Mexico would once again become a global football stage, welcoming the world’s top clubs and fans for one of FIFA’s most ambitious tournaments. 🇲🇽🏆

The story of José Francisco “Jo Jo” Jiménez is one of courage, sacrifice, and honor 🇲🇽🇺🇸

Born in Mexico City and raised in Morelia, Michoacán, José Jiménez never became a U.S. citizen, yet he made the decision to volunteer for the U.S. Marine Corps in 1968, choosing to serve despite having no obligation to do so.

During the Vietnam War, Lance Corporal Jiménez displayed extraordinary bravery during a battle on August 28, 1969. Facing intense enemy fire, he advanced against fortified positions and helped protect his fellow Marines before losing his life at just 23 years old.

In 1970, his mother received the Medal of Honor on his behalf at the White House, making José one of only a few Mexican born recipients of America’s highest military decoration from the Vietnam War era.

Years later, his fellow Marines helped ensure he received the recognition he deserved, supporting his family and honoring his memory in Morelia, where he was laid to rest.

José Francisco “Jo Jo” Jiménez remains a symbol of bravery, sacrifice, and the powerful bond between his Mexican roots and his service. 🇲🇽❤️

A story that inspired Mexico and the world 🇲🇽✨

Before becoming an internationally recognized actress, Yalitza Aparicio worked as a preschool teacher in Tlaxiaco, Oaxaca, with no professional acting experience. Her life changed when she was cast as Cleo in Alfonso Cuarón's *Roma*, a performance that earned her an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress, making her the first Indigenous Mexican woman ever nominated in that category.

That same year, she made history again as the first Indigenous Mexican woman to appear on the cover of Vogue México, where the Mixtec phrase “In tiú’n ntav’i,” meaning “A star is born,” celebrated her remarkable journey.

From a classroom in Oaxaca to the world's biggest stages, Yalitza Aparicio has become a powerful symbol of talent, perseverance, and representation, inspiring millions to believe that extraordinary dreams can begin anywhere. 💚🤍❤️
