We accompanied Counsel Khumbo Bonzoe Soko to Mpherembe Health Centre on 27 September 2026 for the Sleepover Challenge, part of the Nation Publications Limited (NPL) Mothers' Fun Run.
The campaign targeted 25 health facilities under the Mzimba North District Health Office, including Mpherembe, Ekwendeni and Mapale. Soko, Secretary General of the Mzimba Heritage Association, spent the night at the centre to draw attention to the conditions mothers and health workers face.
He arrived with various gifts for the women and is collecting funds through NPL.
Safe motherhood is what we believe in, so we showed up.
