# # # CALL FOR A TEAM

I am planning a music festival in November 2025 and am actively seeking dedicated individuals to join the movement in preparing, organizing, and marketing this exciting event.

This is a collaborative effort, not an employment opportunity. Together, as a team, we can achieve something remarkable!

If you’re interested in being part of this journey, please email me at picturesquefilmstudio.com or WhatsApp me at 0880 951 727.

Let’s make this festival unforgettable!

HOW TO UPLIFT THE MUSIC INDUSTRY IN MALAWI IN 2022. Written by: James Ibrahim on 31st December 2021.

MUSICALLY:
1. A Musician MUST first discover the original Malawian genres.
2. Musicians MUST discover helpful and meaningful lyrics to help to entertain, educate, inspire and inform the national at large.
3. Musicians, Producers, djs, promoters and the audience MUST get connected.
4. Musicians should take music as a business not for funny or just because someone is into it.
5. Some musicians are not musicians, they are builders, stop forcing and go back to your career building career.
6. Musicians MUST make good strategies about financial and plans before going into the studio or shooting a music video, everything needs money.
7. Musicians MUST sing to the World not only for Lilongwe or Malawi people (Standards matter).
8. Musicians should stop sharing music for free, set up rules between you and the producer, have limited free sharing.
9. Musicians should always focus on winning international awards not only local awards which are for sale.
10. Musicians MUST deliver the best once booked, be serious because its business.
11. Use social media 24 hours for promotions.

SUPPORTIVE
1. Musicians should first support themselves before seeking for assistance.
2. Promoters and musicians should work together in good terms.
3. A musician should set up his/her standards, dont be cheap or very expensive.
4. Never depend on a fellow artist to rise up the game. Stand up alone then work with those above.
5. The Ministries in the government, it's high time they budget for arts promotions.
6. The government should introduce a policy in all media houses (tv and radio), play 2 local beats 1 international song. Other countries are doing it, Like here in Nairobi-Kenya.
7. Djs MUST take the biggest part in promoting local music for free (Kenya djs play Kenya music in clubs like no other business).
8. Djs should come up with local mixtapes, distribute them for free to our transporters, more especially to the commuters (buses).
9. Musicians MUST have a team of people to work with, no man works alone.
10.

In so doing Malawi music industry will be uplifted.
