An album comprised of Indigenous Americans of mostly the 19th century. Most of these photos were of course produced via a rendition of 1800's photographs.

Portrait of an Inuit woman. It is noteworthy to mention that the original image comprised the woman with her child strapped to her back, asleep. However, not for reasons of originality or exceptionalism but rather due to time limitations, one has not been able to include the child and incorporate him into this work unfortunately. This piece did indeed take some time, but one has to make a difficult choice here, either the child and the woman are portrayed but rapidly and rashly or the child is omitted but the woman’s features are much more refined. I chose the latter.

Portrait of the alluring Alma Terzic, the original image it is noteworthy was from a movie screenshot so therefore we witness a portrait of bruises, scratches and great consternation expressed in the character Terzic plays. She holds a weapon(notably a knife) for those who find it difficult to discern the object in her right hand. One pencil lays on the paper, for those curiously inquisitive minds it is a 3B gradient model type.

(note; for the merging of two photos into one central frame I had to consult an editing software). Portrait of a Victorian young lady, she must have been somewhat important regardless of her social status as photography was not limited to the aristocracy or royalty of the time (as opposed to say painting which was commissioned by kings and queens to depict their glory) photography was more a product of the industrial revolution. The age of individualism, anyways… for this piece I used a simple HB pencil along with 2b and B for darker tones and shades (especially with her hair since it overlaps even the page) for freckles a lighter tone and each freckle is unique so it was not as simple as dabbing the pencil on paper. Feel free to let me know what you think, and thanks as always for taking the time to check it out and read these incredibly leeeeeengthy posts my good people. 

Photography common in the Victorian Age, has resulted in a plethora of images.. many reproduced here in this album.

Portrait of a Kung! San woman, the size of the sketch pad is rather small. A4, so I attempted to cram inasmuch as possible minor details and aspects of the original image. The woman looks quite content as she smiles with a richly adorned neck and a bandana to keep the hot scorching sun of the Kalahari from overwhelming her. Due to the shadows that result from presumably the sunlight bearing down in the original image, there were B pencils employed, and much smudging and circular motions were used.

Portrait of a Sami girl of Sapmi. The indigenous residents of Scandinavia since time immemorial, they most resemble nomadic hunter gatherer societies throughout the world (I tend to think so, the papoose is also used as a baby cradle by peoples in the Eurasian steppe, to peoples on the north American continent). This is a portrait of a girl, seemingly adorned in her cultural garments. The hat along with the pose is again reminiscent of a romantic and bygone era of Victorian still life photography, whereby the photos would exhibit incredible exquisiteness along with dramatic poses to signify idiosyncrasy at its’ best. The girl commands respect as she towers over the image itself with a rather larger than life bust to demonstrate her physical prowess. Hope you enjoy and I shall post several photos of the work in progress in succession, one after the other. There are nine in total. Only to take necessary precautions for the first five which are NOT signed, I have had them copyrighted via a watermark. This watermark will be employed to be on the safe side, where my art is not signed.
