Dwell on the past = to keep thinking about things that already happened, especially bad things, instead of moving forward.

In Malagasy :
Mipetraka amin'ny lasa , mifikitra amin'ny lasa na ihany koa mihevitra loatra ny zavatra efa lasa.

1. Example : Don't dwell on the past. Learn from it and look ahead.
Malagasy : Aza mifikitra amin'ny lasa, ataovy fianarana ilay izy dia banjino ny ho avy.

Heviny : Aza mihevitra ny fahadisoana taloha foana. Raiso ny lesona ary mandrosoa.

2. Example : If we keep dwelling on the past, we will never solve today's problems.

Malagasy : Raha mifikitra foana amin'ny lasa isika dia tsy ho vitantsika mihitsy ny mamaha ny olana ankehitriny.

Heviny : Raha ny lasa ihany no eritreretintsika dia tsy handroso ny asantsika.

3. Example : The team lost the game, but the coach told them not to dwell on the past.
