It was a great pleasure to have Mrs. Gabrielle Robbins, to talk about " Understanding the Higher Education Opportunities in the U.S. and U.K."

Gabrielle Robbins is an anthropologist focused on issues related to health and the environment in highland Madagascar. She is the Evans-Pritchard Fellow in African Anthropology at the University of Oxford African Studies Centre (UK). She previously held a fellowship at Johns Hopkins University and completed her MSc and PhD at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (USA). She regularly mentors students applying for higher degrees in the US, the UK, and world-wide.

The session was very informative and enriching in terms of information about higher education in both countries.

Mrs. Gabrielle talked about why studying abroad could be a great experience, then explained the difference between U.S. and U.K. Higher education system, followed by explanation of the Master's and PhD programs and the admission requirement priorities for both countries.

She also shared common websites to search for scholarships, tips to have a strong personal statement, ways to get funds to finance the study and the common mistakes.

The American Space is the right place to learn more about U.S. Higher education and to get advice. Feel free to attend our future EducationUSA session or DM us if you have any questions.
