The folk dance troupe “Hora-Horita” was founded in 1994 near the Department of Culture of the Municipal Counsil of Chisinau, Republic of Moldova
During its entire activity, the troupe created its own repertoire that includes popular authentic dances from different folk zones of the country. At present it includes two groups: young people between 18-27 years old, who are lyceum or university studen
ts and children between 9 - 12 years old. During of the 20 years (1994-2014) of activity, the troupe “Hora-Horita”, became laureate of the folk republican festivals “La vatra horelor” and ”Alunelul”, and was awarded the 1st and 2nd prize diplomas of the municipal festival “La fântâna dorului”(2003 - 2012). The troupe is famous for its interpretative art, the variety and originality of dances, for its variety of costumes and national colour. The artistic director and ballet master of the troupe “Hora-Horita” is Constantin Şchiopu, doctor, university lecturer. In its present formula (youth group) the troupe “Hora-Horita” has participated in the folk international festivals in:
