Drink and Draw Latvia Where art, humans and happiness come together. N**E MODEL SKETCHING events in Riga's coziest venue - Kanepes Kulturas centrs.

allCREATE Latvia vision is:
+ to promote creative freedom in the audiovisual arts discipline and to promote drawing and sketching as a meaningful activity in everyday life;
+ to organize and develop interdisciplinary projects to enrich the Latvian cultural sector;
+ to diversify public non-formal education and information opportunities on visual arts, culture and music by organizing non-formal and

alternative events;
+ to create a supportive environment (physical and digital platforms) for people who want to explore and participate in audiovisual arts activities;
+ to promote the re-use of various products and materials by implementing them in art-related activities;
+ to co-operate with companies and other non-governmental organizations for the realization of the vision of this NGO.

At the beginning of this year we celebrated our 8th birthday — can you imagine? 🎉

It was the first time celebrating as residents at Kaņepes Kultūras centrs , and also the first time doing it on a weekday. The reason is simple — we’re slowly building the stamina and inspiration for a grand 10-year celebration 👀

Still, this one was beautiful in its own way:
cake in small containers 🍰, drinks by Kokmuižas alus 🍺, and a long sketching session with 7 wonderful models✏️

Thank you all for being there with us. We’re truly grateful to the warm KKC team and Kokmuiža for the support 🤍

Paldies mūsu dzērienu atbalstītājiem – Kokmuižas alus un Mūrbūdu sidrs kop-brūvējumam! 🍎🥂 Sidrs “Ziedonis” pēdējā pasākumā bija ļoti cieņā. Tiesa, mēs reti kad noķeram bildi ar dalībniekiem, kuri dzērienu malko, jo visi ir tik ļoti iegrimuši skicēšanas sajūtās. ✏️🎨 Tas gan nemaina faktu, ka pudeles tukšojas ātri!

Tiekamies nākamnedēļ – 19. martā plkst. 19.00 !

Yesterday at MEET&DRAW we somehow ended up discussing art media and… “skill issue.”

Yes. That was the joke of the whole evening —
apparently EVERYTHING is a skill issue 😅
(with a healthy dose of sarcasm, of course).

But on a serious note — many of us share a tiny creative trauma.
That first art medium we were forced to use.

For some, it’s school memories of watercolor flooding over a careful drawing.
For others, it’s that chaotic water-dipping craft technique gone wrong.

So now we’re curious 👀

Dažkārt, kad Kristīna vada pasākumus, var dzirdēt tādus dīvainus terminus kā “čupiņa” vai “salauztas pozas”. ⚡️Un nē - tas nav nekāds oficiāls termins, to sakām uzreiz.

Tas ir apzīmējums pozām, kas ir… nu tādas - ka modeli varētu salocīt un iepozēt tā, lai tas būtu viegli pārnēsājams čemodānā.☺️ Vai arī - nekas fiziski, protams, nav salauzts, taču pozā ir daudz leņķu, reizēm pat šķietami pretdabiskas cilvēka ķermeņa pozīcijas.🤸‍♀️
