UPDATE:

The Playwrights' Center very graciously took down the script call from Actors Rep in their listings of opportunities.

The error was ENTIRELY ours, not The Center's. We very much appreciate their immediate response and assistance.

If you don't know about The Playwrights' Center, check it out. It is a fantastic organisation that has done extraordinary work to support playwrights and playwriting for a half-century.

Actors Rep is NOT accepting script submissions at this time.

With all the posts I saw yesterday (and every year) on September 11th, I was reminded of the opportunity Actors Rep had to produce Anne Nelson's beautiful play, THE GUYS, in June 2018, featuring two of the finest theatre artists I have ever known, Christine Probst and Peter Zazzali. I (Erik Abbott) had the honour of directing them.

The play is based on Ms Nelson's experience of helping a New York City firehouse Captain write eulogies to memorialise the men lost from his house on September 11th, 2001.

Christine, Peter, and I were all living in Manhattan at the time of the attacks.

The audiences weren't as big as we'd hoped, but it was an incredible experience. I'd like to think we did justice to Ms Nelson's play and appropriately honoured those who lost their lives in the World Trade Center attacks.

For our 4th season in Luxembourg we are back with our ADULTS – TEENS (13-18) – KIDS (12-18) WEEKLY Theatre Classes and with exiting new propositions : the DANCE-Theatre Academy (Monthly) and The Creative WRITING for Theatre LAB (every 2 weeks). We are also providing Team Bulding and « Theatre @ your Desk » sessions (on demand). Our Story

Actors Repertory Theatre Luxembourg (Actors Rep) is the only professional English-language theatre company in the Grand Duchy.

Our mission is to deliver passionate, thought provoking professional English-language theatre to Luxembourg audiences.

Founded in 2012, Actors Rep presented its debut production, Edward Albee’s THE GOAT, Or Who is Sylvia? in June 2013 at and in collaboration with the Théâtre National du Luxembourg (TNL).

We have produced nine fully professional productions since:

Reflecting the ‘repertory’ part of our name, we have revived two productions, DEAR SANTA..., which has been presented at Café Rocas (upstairs) during last and this year’s holiday seasons, as well as on-site for several private holiday events.

# WTF HAPPENED? ON THE PHENOMENON OF TRUMP was originally commissioned in 2017 byCharles Muller and Théâtre d’Esch for its multi-cultural, multi-lingual ‘Grand foire magique interculturelle’ as part of the city of Esch-sur-Alzette’s ‘Nuit de la Culture’. Written and performed by Actors Rep Artistic Director Erik Abbott, it was re-imagined and produced in full by Actors Rep and directed by Associate Artistic Director Christine Probst at TNL in 2017. In 2018, it was re-vamped and revived again for three performances at Café Rocas before travelling to the US, where it was presented in the Kansas City Fringe Festival (and was named ‘Best of Venue).

Actors Rep has no permanent performance space of its own (although this is high on our Wish List) and we have presented our productions at numerous Luxembourg venues: TNL, Mierscher Kulturhaus, Bamhaus, Café Rocas, Nature Elements am Garage, the former Art Café, Konrad Café, and Arendt House.

We also periodically offer classes and workshops on acting, voice and, recently, playwriting. Actors Rep would be delighted to discuss on-site workshops for employees and staff at your company.
