🎭🎬 We are delighted to announce that, ten years after his last visit to CinEast, the renowned Polish actor and director ANDRZEJ SEWERYN has accepted our invitation to return to the festival 🤩
We will honour him with a special tribute celebrating his remarkable career in European cinema – a journey that has taken him from Warsaw to Paris and Hollywood.
✨ During his previous visit in October 2016, we presented the acclaimed film "The Last Family" and on the same day the deeply saddening news of Andrzej Wajda's passing reached us.
🎞️ His return exactly ten years later carries a special symbolism, as 2026 marks the centenary of Andrzej Wajda's birth, a filmmaker widely regarded as one of the greatest directors in the history of Polish cinema.
Few actors accompanied Wajda's artistic journey as closely as Andrzej Seweryn.
🌍 Over more than five decades, he has moved effortlessly between Polish and international cinema, theatre and directing. He has appeared in more than 80 films, collaborated with some of Europe's and the world's most celebrated filmmakers, became one of only three non-French actors ever to join the legendary Comédie-Française as a sociétaire, and today serves as the General Director of Warsaw's Teatr Polski.
