Dear Friends,
It was a dreadful day for all of us, but The Siren’s Call Team, neimënster and den Atelier, are very happy that all of you, as well as bands and crew, are safe and sound.
We apologize for the delay in getting back to you. We have been busy securing our equipment after the storm. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
The very helpful weather service from the Airport informed us that the Sirens' Call Festival would be hit by a severe storm between 20:00 and midnight on Saturday. The safety and well-being of festivalgoers, bands, and crew are our top priorities. Therefore, the festival team decided to ask the bands to play earlier on the main stage. Bombay Bicycle Club and Alvvays graciously accommodated this change, thanks to their incredibly flexible and kind crew.
We also offered Bat for Lashes the opportunity to perform on the Melusina stage. Unfortunately, despite their best efforts, their production could not be accommodated at the venue. This led to the cancellation of their slot, which of course broke our hearts.
After 20:00, the indoor schedule was expected to continue as planned, and we were all looking forward to the Kim Gordon show. However, less than an hour before their performance, Kim Gordon's team informed us that due to the weather situation, they needed to leave early to catch their ferry to Glastonbury, resulting in the cancellation of their gig.
Despite our efforts to run the festival as smoothly as possible, we understand that your experience may not have been the most pleasant. We apologize for any inconveniences you faced and acknowledge that communication should have been more detailed although we did our utmost best to keep you informed as the situation developed. Therefore, we are pleased to inform you that some good news will be arriving in your inbox later today.
Once again, we are relieved to report that no harm was done and If you look at the video of the stage at 21:30, you’ll see that the decisions taken were the right ones.
