How To Deal With Credit Customers in AgricFarming

Itโ€™s often difficult to say no when relatives, friends, or community members ask for discounts or credit on your farm produce. Out of fear of damaging relationships, many farmers end up losing money or delaying growth.

Solution: Separate business from personal relationships.

Appoint a trusted worker or sales assistant to handle all transactions. When customers deal with a third party, it removes the personal pressure.

Set clear prices and payment terms (e.g., a visible price list at the sales point) so everyone knows the rules beforehand.

Politely but firmly explain that your business also has expenses to cover, seeds, fertilizer, labour and time. Real friends and supporters will respect this.

Remember, your farm is not just a hobby, itโ€™s a business. The sooner you set boundaries, the faster you build sustainability and profit.
