Please meet Dr. Deddeh E. P. Supuwood, BSc., MD, MSc!

From witnessing her mother’s battle with cancer to becoming one of Liberia’s leading voices in cancer care, Dr. Supuwood is turning pain into purpose. When she was studying at Cuttington University, cancer became personal. Her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer, and for eight years, she watched her battle the disease. Her mother eventually passed away in 2009. That experience would leave a lasting mark on her life and help shape the doctor she would become.

In 2016, she earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from the A.M. Dogliotti College of Medicine at the University of Liberia. She later received a fully funded scholarship to pursue specialist training in Medical Oncology at the National Cancer Institute of Cairo University in Egypt. After completing her training, she returned home to Liberia, becoming the FIRST post-war Liberian Medical Oncology. Today, she serves as Head of the Oncology Unit at John F. Kennedy Medical Center, Liberia’s national referral hospital, where she works in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer patients.

Dr. Supuwood also serves as President of the Liberia Medical & Dental Association (LMDA), where she use her voice to advocate for a stronger Liberian healthcare system. Her work also reaches into research and cancer awareness. She was among the researchers involved in pilot study examining high-risk HPV genotypes in Liberia; research with important implications for understanding cervical cancer risks and prevention.

What makes her journey remarkable is the full circle; the disease that took her mother became the field she chose to dedicate her life to. She could have allowed grief to become the end of her story. Instead, she transformed it into a calling, one that brought her back home to serve Liberians facing the same disease that once changed her own family forever. Her journey reminds us that sometimes our deepest pain can become the foundation for our greatest purpose.

While her work is particularly rooted in bridal fashion, she can also design custom pieces for women for any occasion. This young woman doesn’t just sew gowns, she creates statement pieces.

Dorothy is the Executive Director and Founder of Empower HER Foundation, a visionary youth leader, public speaker, and social entrepreneur dedicated to creating lasting opportunities for girls and young women across Liberia. Through bold leadership, purposeful advocacy, and community-driven action, she is redefining what it means to empower the next generation; proving that true leadership is measured by the lives it transforms.

With a deep passion for advancing the rights and potential of girls, Dorothy founded Empower HER Foundation to break barriers that limit opportunities for young women. Through impactful programs focused on menstrual health, girls’ education, leadership development, mentorship, scholarships, and life skills, she is equipping young girls with the confidence, knowledge, and opportunities they need to thrive and become leaders in their communities.

Dorothy studied Environmental Science at Stella Maris Polytechnic University, where she developed a strong appreciation for the connection between environmental sustainability, public health, and community development. She believes education should go beyond the classroom by inspiring practical solutions that improve lives and strengthen communities.

In addition to her nonprofit leadership, Dorothy has built a solid professional background in communications, branding, administration, and project coordination. Her ability to combine strategic leadership with grassroots community engagement has enabled her to build meaningful partnerships, mobilize communities, and drive sustainable impact.

One of her current flagship initiatives is the Desk for Dreams Project, a campaign dedicated to providing school desks and improving learning environments for children in underserved communities. Please meet Dr. Joyce Johnson Dolo, DPA, SPHR!

Dr. Joyce Johnson Dolo is an organizational leadership strategist, educator, author, and global management consultant with more than two decades of executive leadership experience spanning Liberia, the United States, and the international development sector. She is the Founder and Chief Engagement Officer of The Collaborative Group, LLC, a Liberia- and U.S.-based consulting firm specializing in organizational development, governance, human capital strategy, and institutional strengthening. Through her work, she partners with organizations to build stronger systems, strengthen leadership, and improve institutional performance.

Dr. Dolo began her academic journey in Liberia, earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from AME Zion University College in Monrovia. Determined to deepen her knowledge and broaden her impact, she continued her studies in the United States, earning a Master of Science in Conflict Analysis and Resolution from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. She further completed a Leadership Graduate Certificate at Harvard Extension School in Cambridge, Massachusetts, before earning her Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) from the University of Maryland Global Campus in Adelphi, Maryland, graduating with an outstanding 4.0 GPA. In addition, she holds the prestigious Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification and is a Balanced Scorecard Master Professional (BSMP), credentials that reflect her commitment to excellence in leadership and organizational development.

Over the years, Dr. Dolo has held senior executive leadership positions in both Liberia and the United States. Most recently, she served as Vice President of Human Resources at AMI Expeditionary Healthcare, where she led a global human resources team supporting international operations. Prior to this role, she held senior leadership positions at the Central Bank of Liberia and the Liberia Revenue Authority. As a Human Resources Advisor on a USAID-supported project, she provided strategic human resource and organizational development support to 14 Government of Liberia institutions, including the Civil Service Agency (CSA). Her expertise has also been recognized internationally through her representation of regional human resource interests with the World Customs Organization (WCO) and the African Tax Administration Forum (ATAF). Committed to nurturing the next generation of professionals, Dr. Dolo also served as a pro bono lecturer at United Methodist University in Liberia, where she taught Human Resource Management.

Dr. Dolo is the author of “How to Destroy an Organization Without Really Trying: A Practical Guide to Organizational Dysfunction, Leadership Failure, and Rewarded Incompetence, as well as Reimagining Tacit Knowledge Transfer in a Remote Work Era (2023). Her research has led to the development of innovative organizational tools, including the Organizational Resilience Framework (ORF), the Institutional Collapse Cycle (ICC), and the TCG Organizational Assessment Instrument (TOAI). These frameworks help organizations identify dysfunction, strengthen governance, improve accountability, and build sustainable performance.

Among her many accomplishments, Dr. Dolo also proudly represented Liberia as Miss Liberia 1997, reflecting a lifelong commitment to leadership, excellence, and national service.

Drawing from years of leadership across diverse organizations, Dr. Dolo observed a recurring pattern: many institutions failed not because they lacked talented people, but because ineffective leadership, weak systems, and unhealthy organizational cultures quietly undermined success. These experiences inspired her to write How to Destroy an Organization Without Really Trying. Through the book, she challenges leaders to recognize the warning signs of organizational dysfunction before they become crises and provides practical strategies for building stronger, more accountable, and resilient institutions.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Dr. Dolo is passionate about mentoring young people and believes that leadership is best expressed through service. She enjoys reading, fashion, and traveling.

When many people think of security, they often picture strength, authority, and uniforms. Mariam Francis sees something more; opportunity, inclusion, and the power of women to transform the very institutions that protect a nation.

As the Founder and Executive Director of Strong Women in Security (SWIS), Mariam is leading a movement to reshape Liberia’s security landscape by ensuring that women are not just present, but empowered to lead, influence, and drive meaningful change. SWIS is a nonprofit organization committed to promoting women’s participation in the security sector while advocating for security sector reform. Through her leadership, Mariam is challenging outdated perceptions, creating opportunities for women, and demonstrating that a stronger, more effective security sector is one that embraces diversity and equal representation.

A police officer by profession, Mariam has built her career on both service and continuous learning. She holds a Master’s Degree in International Relations from the Cuttington University Graduate School of Professional Studies and earned a Certificate in Public Policy Management from the Liberia Institute of Public Administration (LIPA). She is an alumna of the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) and the Young Political Leadership School Africa (YPLSA). Most recently, she graduated from the International Egyptian Police Academy Research Center (International Security Training Center), further strengthening her expertise in international security and policing.

At the heart of Mariam’s work is a deep passion for the Liberia National Police and a vision of a security sector where women are recognized not as exceptions, but as indispensable leaders and professionals. Through advocacy, mentorship, and innovative initiatives, she continues to amplify the message that women’s voices, leadership, and expertise are essential to building safer communities and a stronger nation. Her work is changing narratives, breaking barriers, and inspiring young girls across Liberia to dream beyond traditional expectations. She is proving that women belong in every space where critical decisions are made, including those responsible for protecting lives and safeguarding national peace. For Mariam Francis, national security is more than a career, it is a calling.

Please meet Dr. Yarvoh Massah Moore-Wilson’s!

Every scar tells a story of healing, and every surgeon carries a story of sacrifice. Dr. Ma-Ya Wilz story is one of determination, excellence, and an unwavering commitment to saving lives.

From an early age, Dr. Moore-Wilson nurtured an unwavering passion for education and a deep desire to serve humanity. As early as the third grade, she dreamed of becoming a medical doctor. With every stage of her academic journey, that childhood dream evolved into a lifelong mission fueled by compassion, dedication, and a commitment to improving lives through medicine.

She began her educational journey at Calvary Baptist High School before continuing her secondary education at St. Teresa’s Convent High School, where she earned her high school diploma in 2008. Determined to pursue her calling, she immediately enrolled at Stella Maris Polytechnic/Mother Patern College of Health Sciences, where she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry in 2012.

That same year, Dr. Moore-Wilson successfully passed the Medical College Aptitude Test, ranking among only 64 successful candidates out of approximately 200 applicants. This remarkable achievement marked the beginning of her medical training and brought her one step closer to realizing her childhood dream.

In 2018, she graduated with the degree of Doctor of Medicine and proudly took the Hippocratic Oath, officially beginning her journey as a physician. Since then, she has served in several clinical and leadership roles across Liberia’s healthcare system, making meaningful contributions to patient care and health service delivery.

One of the defining chapters of her professional journey came between 2020 and 2022, when she served as Medical Director of C. H. Rennie Hospital, the only referral hospital serving Upper Margibi County. During her tenure, she provided strategic leadership and worked tirelessly to strengthen healthcare delivery for the communities the hospital serves.

Driven by an enduring commitment to growth and excellence, Dr. Moore-Wilson made the difficult decision to step away from her role as Medical Director to pursue specialized training. She enrolled in the General Surgery Residency Program at the Liberia College of Physicians and Surgeons, dedicating herself to acquiring advanced surgical knowledge and skills.

Today, she stands on the brink of yet another remarkable milestone. With gratitude to God and the unwavering support of her family, mentors, colleagues, and friends, she is preparing to graduate as a Specialist General Surgeon in the coming months. Her journey is a testament to resilience, perseverance, humility, and an unrelenting pursuit of excellence.

Dr. Yarvoh Massah Moore-Wilson remains deeply committed to advancing surgical care, mentoring the next generation of healthcare professionals, and contributing to the continued strengthening of Liberia’s healthcare system. She believes that medicine is not merely a profession, but a calling, one that demands compassion, integrity, and service to humanity.

Meet Colletta Ledlum, popularly and professionally known as Ceekaynayway.

While many know CeeKaynayway as a talented Liberian artist and creative, her impact extends far beyond music. She is an educator, advocate, entrepreneur, and community leader whose journey reflects purpose and an unwavering commitment to empowering others. Through music, education, and service, she has dedicated her life to creating opportunities, preserving culture, and inspiring the next generation.

After relocating to Liberia as a young teenager, Colletta completed her secondary education at the School of Prime Systems (SPS). She later returned to the United States to pursue higher education at Rowan University in New Jersey, where she cultivated a passion for leadership, creativity, and service. There, she earned a double major in Biology and African-American Studies.

Throughout her college years, Colletta supported herself by braiding hair, using her entrepreneurial spirit and determination to finance her education. This experience strengthened her work ethic and independence; qualities that continue to define her journey today.

Following her graduation from Rowan University, Colletta founded Quist Union Health Initiatives, a nonprofit organization committed to empowering women and girls in underserved communities across Liberia. Through the organization, she has provided feminine hygiene products, reproductive health education, self-defense classes, and women’s rights education, equipping young women with the knowledge and confidence to take ownership of their futures.

Her passion for service later led her to the Peace Corps, where she served in Uganda as a Community Health Educator. Working alongside local communities, she promoted health education, women’s empowerment, and girls’ autonomy over their minds, bodies, and futures. This experience further reinforced her belief that education and empowerment are among the most powerful tools for creating lasting and meaningful change.

In 2021, Colletta returned to Liberia and officially launched her music career following her participation in MTN’s Y’ello Star competition. Performing under the name CeeKaynayway, she quickly became known for creating music rooted in authenticity, cultural pride, and meaningful storytelling.

Inspired by legendary Liberian artists such as CIC, she incorporates Koloqua into her music while blending Afro-inspired sounds with contemporary influences to celebrate Liberian identity and connect with audiences both at home and across the diaspora. Over the years, she has performed on stages throughout the United States, proudly showcasing Liberian talent and culture while contributing to the growing global recognition of Liberian music.

Alongside her music career, Colletta has remained deeply committed to education. She currently serves as a 6th Grade World Studies teacher specializing in English Language Development (ELD), supporting multilingual learners as they build confidence, strengthen academic language skills, and discover their voices. Her classroom reflects the same values found in her music: authenticity, encouragement, and the belief that every individual possesses the potential to succeed.

As the youngest and only daughter in her family, Colletta learned early the importance of resilience, confidence, and determination. These values continue to shape every aspect of her work. Whether teaching in the classroom, performing on stage, or leading community initiatives, she remains dedicated to uplifting others and creating spaces where young people, especially young women can believe in their potential and pursue their dreams.

CeeKaynayway’s mission extends far beyond entertainment. She is committed to elevating Liberian music on the global stage, celebrating the richness of Liberian culture, and inspiring others to pursue their dreams regardless of the obstacles they may encounter.

Through every lesson she teaches, every song she writes, and every community she serves, Colletta Ledlum continues to demonstrate that purpose, perseverance, and passion have the power to transform lives.

Please meet Lawuo Ozora Ma!

Chrisretha is a passionate social worker, entrepreneur, humanitarian, and changemaker whose journey is marked by academic excellence, entrepreneurial innovation, humanitarian service, and a passion for transforming lives.

Raised in Barnesville, Monrovia, Chrisretha began her educational journey at Watt Day Care before attending Zoe Louise, St. Michael, and Shirley Kolmer. In 2010, she relocated to the United States, carrying with her big dreams and an unwavering determination to make a difference. After graduating from high school in the United States, she attended Penn State University before transferring to the University of North Dakota, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Rehabilitation and Human Services.

Driven by her passion for giving back, Chrisretha founded an organization in 2021 dedicated to supporting children in Liberia. Although the organization was temporarily placed on hold while she focused on her studies and life abroad, her vision remains alive, and she plans to relaunch it as she spends more time back home. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she also joined a collective effort that raised funds to provide food and support to vulnerable families in Liberia.

In 2025, with only $500 and a few feminine hygiene products, Chrisretha launched Simply Sexy by Lawuo, a feminine care brand created intentionally to meet the needs of women. What began with yoni products and delivery services has blossomed into a thriving business with a physical store in Matadi and a second branch set to open in July. More than a business, Simply Sexy by Lawuo is a movement that empowers women to embrace self-care, prioritize their wellness, and confidently show up for themselves. Her vision is to establish branches throughout Liberia, ensuring that women across the country have access to products that support their health and well-being.

Alongside her husband, Chrisretha is also involved in the construction industry and co-owns an electronics business in Sinkor, with a second branch opening in Barnesville.

Professionally, Chrisretha has dedicated her life to serving others. Following college, she worked at the Juvenile Center and with the Fargo School District, supporting children from preschool through high school. Today, she serves the State of North Dakota, working with adults facing substance use disorders, mental health challenges, domestic violence, r**e, and abuse. Currently, she is pursuing a Master of Social Work degree at the University of Denver and is expected to graduate in June 2027. Her ultimate goal is to become a therapist and return to Liberia to support survivors of domestic violence, r**e, and abuse while empowering young people to discover their purpose and reach their full potential.

Chrisretha’s story is proof that faith, education, hard work, and determination can transform dreams into reality. While her journey is still unfolding, every step reminds us that success is not measured only by what we accumulate, but by the lives we impact along the way. Her mission is greater than herself. She envisions a Liberia where women are healed, youth are empowered, businesses are created, and communities are transformed.

Her journey demonstrates that with vision, determination, and a heart for service, it is possible to build businesses, transform lives, and create meaningful impact.

Grace is an 18 year old cybersecurity enthusiast, innovator, and rising leader who is proving that young women belong at the forefront of technology and digital transformation.

A sophomore at Starz University, Grace is pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity, a field where she is already making an extraordinary impact. Recently, she participated in the ECOWAS Cyber Security Hackathon Capture the Flag (CTF) Competition, where she was honored with the prestigious award for Best Female Performance. This achievement is more than an award, it is a testament to Grace’s dedication, and unwavering commitment to excellence. Throughout the competition, she demonstrated exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving skills, tackling complex challenges in cryptography, web exploitation, and reverse engineering, all while competing under pressure against some of the region’s brightest minds.

Grace aspires to become a cybersecurity leader and educator, using her knowledge and creativity to make the digital world safer for future generations. Her dream is to teach children about online safety through drama and storytelling, believing that engaging and creative approaches can help young people better understand cyber threats such as phishing, scams, and online exploitation.

As we celebrate Grace’s remarkable achievement, we pray that God continues to open every right door before her, create opportunities beyond her imagination, and guide her steps as she reaches even greater heights in the world of cybersecurity.
