🚨 FACT CHECK UPDATE: Court Records Do Not Support Viral Claim About Johnny Abratee Hollywood
Liberia Expose has investigated the viral claim that Liberian national Johnny Abratee Hollywood was sentenced to 8 years in prison in the United States for robbery.
After reviewing available Minnesota court records, including a recent filing from the State of Minnesota District Court, Court File No. 71-CR-25-128, we found no evidence supporting that claim.
According to a letter filed on July 31, 2026, by the Tenth Judicial District Public Defender’s Office, the case involved no insurance and Driving After Revocation (DAR) charges—not robbery.
The filing states that Mr. Hollywood missed a court appearance in April. The charges were later certified as petty misdemeanors, and the case was closed. It further states that he later contacted his attorney and requested that the matter be reopened and placed back on the court calendar.
📌 Based on the records reviewed, there is no evidence confirming that Johnny Abratee Hollywood was sentenced to 8 years in prison for robbery.
This case is another reminder that social media claims should be verified before being shared, especially when they involve serious criminal allegations that can affect someone's reputation, family, and future.
🇱🇷 As Liberians, let’s do better. Instead of celebrating someone’s downfall based on unverified information, let’s check the facts, support one another, celebrate success, and share information responsibly.
