Last month we had the privilege of hosting Tomoaki Otani san (), CEO of Frontieer Japan LLC (.sapporo), at our Colombo office for three weeks.
For anyone who knows the SoftSora story, Otani san is not just a business partner. He is one of the people who helped lay the foundation this company stands on today. Long before we had the team and the client base we have now across Japan and Europe, he believed in what a Sri Lankan team could deliver to Japanese enterprise standards.
Those three weeks were anything but a formal visit. Working sessions with our engineers. Deep dives into live projects. Honest feedback on quality, process and how Japanese clients think. Our team asked questions, challenged ideas and learned directly from someone who has spent his career building trust across two very different business cultures.
Seeing our younger engineers sit with him, some of them presenting to a Japanese client stakeholder for the first time, was the highlight of the month for all of us.
Otani san, thank you for the time, the honesty and the belief. The plaque our team put together says it better than words here can.
