A beautiful memory from last year !

Looking back on my 3rd solo art exhibition, “The Winged Season”, held in Sri Lanka.

Your presence, love, and support made that day truly special and unforgettable.
I feel deeply grateful to the universe for blessing me with the creativity and passion to express my world through art. Every painting carries a little piece of my journey, and I’m thankful for everyone who has been part of it. 🤍

Forever grateful for this beautiful chapter.

Last Tuesday, Lake Tekapo became my open-air studio. Among the cold stones, quiet water, and snow-covered mountains, I watched Black-billed Gulls move across the sky and tried to follow their flight with my brush. Each bird stayed for only a moment, so the sketches became little traces of movement rather than perfect studies. It was a simple experience—sitting beside the lake, painting what was in front of me, and letting the landscape guide my hand. Some moments in nature are too fleeting to capture in a photograph, but they can stay alive on paper.

In my studio, I am bringing the Sri Lankan endemic Grey Hornbill to life through delicate layers of watercolour. I observe its quiet character, soft feathers, and earthy tones, letting each brushstroke slowly reveal the spirit of this beautiful forest bird.

Red-wattled Lapwing (රත් යටිමල් කිරළා)

This watercolor painting features three Red-wattled Lapwings (රත් යටිමල් කිරළා), a bird commonly seen in Sri Lanka. It is easy to recognize by its bright red bill, black-and-white feathers, and long yellow legs.

The Red-wattled Lapwing is known as a warning bird because of its loud, sharp call. It quickly notices changes in its surroundings and warns other birds when there is danger nearby.

This artwork is currently in progress and is being painted using Winsor & Newton Professional Watercolours. My goal is to capture the beauty, alert nature, and unique character of this remarkable Sri Lankan bird.
