A truly special evening celebrating Shakespeare on an international stage!

Students from the 50th All Island Inter-School Shakespeare Drama Competition were present at Asia’s first premiere screening of National Theatre Live: Hamlet in Colombo. The winners and runners-up casts of this year’s competition had the unique opportunity to attend the red-carpet event and meet Olivier Award winner Hiran Abeysekera in person, alongside members of the British Council and the wider arts community.

We extend our sincere thanks to Orlando Edwards, Country Director of the British Council, and Ceylon Theatres for hosting and supporting this inspiring experience.

An inspiring moment for our young performers, connecting school theatre to world-class productions and reaffirming the enduring power of Shakespeare. 🎭
