The Executive Committee of the Sri Lanka Association of Australia Awards Alumni (SLAAAA) recently held a productive discussion with officials of the Australian High Commission in Sri Lanka regarding the proposed Action Plan of SLAAAA.

The discussion focused on future initiatives, alumni engagement activities, professional development programmes, and community-oriented projects to be implemented during the year. The meeting also provided an opportunity to exchange ideas on strengthening collaboration between SLAAAA and the Australian High Commission.

SLAAAA sincerely appreciates the continued support and engagement of the Australian High Commission and looks forward to working together to deliver impactful initiatives for the alumni community and the wider society.

The Meeting of the Regional Australia Awards Alumni Associations was successfully held on 20 May 2026, hosted by the Australia Awards Alumni Association of Bangladesh (AAAB).

Representing the Sri Lanka Association of Australia Awards Alumni (SLAAAA), Ms. Tilani Sugandika (Vice President) and Mr. Pulasthi Pathirana (Assistant Secretary) participated in the discussions and engagement sessions.

The meeting served as a valuable platform to exchange ideas, share experiences, and strengthen regional collaboration among Australia Awards alumni associations across the region.

SLAAAA is excited and honoured to host the next Meeting of the Regional Australia Awards Alumni Associations and looks forward to further enhancing regional partnerships and alumni engagement.

The Planning Meeting of the newly elected Executive Committee of the Sri Lanka Association of Australia Awards Alumni (SLAAAA) was succeffully held on 28th April 2026, with strong engagement and valuable contributions from our alumni network.

Celebrating the launch of Rathu Karumini Heena (Dreams of Ladybirds) by Nilanga Dilhan

A lovely blend of public service and literary passion.
It is with pleasure that we celebrate the launch of Nilanga's maiden poetry collection Rathu Kurumini Heena (Ahas Publishers).

Nilanga is a Director at the Ministry of Health and Mass Media and an Australia Awards Alumni 🇦🇺.

He brings to life reflections on the inner self—exploring love, separation, sorrow, and dreams, while keeping hope alive through 54 beautifully crafted poems.

We wish him luck for his future artistic and public service endeavours.

The Sri Lanka Association of Australia Awards Alumni successfully held its Annual General Meeting on 19th March 2026 at Lotus Tower, Colombo 1 with the generous support of Australia Awards.

The event brought together alumni members to reflect on the past year’s achievements, strengthen connections, and chart the way forward. The outgoing President Kalyani Abeysekara expressed sincere gratitude to all members and non-members for their continuous support, as well as to our collaborative partners and Australia Awards for their invaluable contribution throughout the year.
