Celebrating the Handmade, CRAFT - Tradition and Invention (Springer), is an ambitious project led by Lindy Joubert and Publisher, Springer, that documents perspectives surrounding national handmade traditions. My contribution to the just released Volume 2 (Chapter 5), Handmade in Serendib, surveys important practises and statistics from Sri Lanka.

I thank Springer and Lindy for inviting me to amplify Sri Lanka's rich heritage.

How can we responsibly re-present early photographs of communities whose voices were historically marginalised?
My latest article revisits early 20th-century images of Sri Lanka’s Vedda community to explore ethical representation, colonial influence, and the need for context, dignity, and inclusion. By reframing these archives today, we can move toward more balanced narratives and meaningful dialogue.

VISIT THE PIYADASA GALLERY at University Malaya. A hidden gem in the heritage designated AMAZING Brutalist Buildings Block. The Gallery is neat light box that was Piyadasa's classroom. Now transformed into a creative space that serves as a gallery, working space, discussion forum and more.
