I don’t have a lot of heroes but I do have some of my own, this is one of them: Paul Van Dyk, a trance edm producer and DJ. I adore his music and have seen him performing live in Malaysia (2008), Hungary (2017), and Indonesia (2014 and 2025).

Apa itu “altar” dalam perayaan Hari peringatan leluhur (Day of the dead)? Di acara tahunan kita dengan Kedutaan Besar Meksiko dalam Hari Peringatan leluhur kita membangungkan sejenis kuil yang bernama “Altar”, di situ kami menaruh berbagai benda kesukaan orang-orang yang diperingati dan beberapa simbol budaya Meksiko seperti bunga-bunga supaya lingkungannya wangi, jalur garam yang menunjukkan arahnya kepada arwah yang mengujungi altarnya dan lilin-lilin yang memberikan cahaya kepada tempatnya antara yang lain. Tahun ini altar kami didedikasikan kepada Mr. Warwik Purser sama orang-orang yang kita mencintai.

Tadi mau posting soal ultahku kemarin dan pas scrolling di laptop woiii!! aku temukan foto2 ini dari 2016, kalo gak salah Maret, di Solo. Waktu itu lagi di studio Ko Hery dan Om Guh suruh dia memotret aku sambil dia nyutradarai juga. Ya Tuhan! Sekitar bulan2 itu Mbak Lisa sama Padma mulai panggil aku Viki juga sebab kami sering berkarya proyek wayang, dan ribuan cerita lagi dalam tahun itu, hampir 10 years guys! Banyak sekali pikiran guys namun jika kamu lagi baca ini berarti kamu juga berada dalam kisah hidupku, terima kasih kamu sudah temani aku dalam petualangan ini di Indonesia yang sama sekali belum selesai! Terima kasih juga Indonesia, aku sudah habiskan disini 1/3 dari hidupku, semoga aku tetap dikasih lebih banyak pengalaman di tanah ini yg aku anggap rumah. Tengkyu, tengkyu, tengkyu! Our latest entry in the project which highlights the traditional clothing of the Ñäñho/Otomí indigenous community from Central America by , was photographed in Bangkok, Thailand, last year. The Indonesian artist worked as our model. Our project aims to convey a clear message: cultures are boundless and constantly evolving; our models come from various nations, religions, ethnic groups, and affiliations; we don’t believe in boundaries; and traditional clothing is valuable to be worn anywhere because it is a centuries-old expression of an ethinic group: the Ñäñho/Otomí, humanity’s heritage. We have seven sessions remaining before we present the picture exhibition in Mexico in 2027. We are excited, but there is still a lot of work to be done.

When I initially started studying to play the flute, I believed that playing intricate tunes with a highly developed technique was the finest way to show off my abilities. I had the privilege of performing music for Suprapto Suryodarmo, a Buddhist artist whose movement focused on movement as meditation, when my life in Asia first started. That’s when I understood that paying close attention to every breath and note I played would help me convey my ideas more effectively on the flute. Since then, I’ve mostly played in this much more reflective manner.

I am grateful to for sending me this video and for inviting me to perform at this intimate poetry event where poets would perform their works.
