Seoul International Dance Competition The 8th Seoul International Dance Competition

ㅇ 2004년 제1회 대회로 시작된 “서울국제무용콩쿠르”는 국내는 물론 가장 규모가 큰 국제무용올림픽으로 유망한 젊은 무용수들을 발굴함과 동시에 해외에 소개하고 국제적인 경험을 쌓을 수 있는 기회를 제공함은 물론 각국의 우수한 무용수들이 자기의 기량을 마음껏 펼치고 미래 무용세계를 이끌어갈 젊은 인재들의 화합과 교류의 장으로 자리매김을 하여 한국무용의 위상을 제고시키고 있음.

ㅇ 또한 2009년부터는 발레 시니어 남자 부문, 2010년부터는 컨템포러리 무용 부문 중 국내 참가자가 1,2등에 수상할 시는 군입대를 면제 받게 됨으로써 우리나라의 유망한 젊은 남자 무용수 발굴과 기량향상에도 크게 기여.
