Untethered Magic

Untethered Magic Untethered Magic allows organised time, space and resources for creatives to reflect on process and practice.

We provide opportunities to engage with our contexts by connecting the local to the global and encourage connection with the global South.

Back on the radio next Thursday 27 JULY at 3 PM on Montez Press Radio πŸ’«πŸ“‘ this time with Untethered Magic and special guests Ngwatilo, Joseph, Nekoye and Esther 🎀

This show was a treat to make - it is an audio collage of the residency we did with Untethered Magic in February this year. We’re so excited to share more about their practices around making space for the re-thinking of art and life, with sustainability at the centre. Untethered Magic is a home, an art space and a site to re-imagine, on the outskirts of Nairobi National Park πŸŒΏπŸƒ

During our time collaborating, performingborders and Untethered Magic have discussed ideas of place, sustainability, and live art, thinking through the creation of alternative spaces for experimental work ⚑️

In this show, we share conversations between the two collectives, alongside readings and short performative interventions by artists who joined them during the residency in Kenya including Nekoye Ommeh, Ngwatilo Mawiyoo, Esther Kamba, and Joseph Kanyenje.

A lovely balm for an afternoon in July! 🌞
