I made this a few months back without any real motivation other than to just practice my craft. I had no emotional connection to it whatsoever but now when I look at it it’s actually one of my favorite paintings I’ve ever done. Even with the imperfections i see every time I look at it. I guess what I’ve learned from it to always appreciate the efforts you make in life. Even the little ones that only you can see because they one day can turn into something beautiful 🌼

Day 2 of making this portrait is the part of the process that’s most daunting for me. The blending. 😮‍💨 Im a fairly slow painter but since I use acrylics I had to be fast here and even though I was using a spray bottle to keep the surface of the painting moist for longer, more often than I’d have liked, it kept drying and I had to keep repainting. That said, I think it came together pretty well.
