Moon above 🌙 Waves below 🌊 Peace within 🤍
They say you have a big heart,
But they don’t tell you,
It’s the reason you have little time for yourself.
The way your heart opens,
To let people in,
Your heartbeat becomes a familiar sound to ears that are not even yours,
You watch their bodies move to the rhythm until your life is a dance they lead.
You learn how to lower yourself,
Low enough to become a land of occupation,
You convince yourself you are not a colony,
Except when people walk into your life,
They force an extra tongue on you, to speak their language.
It blows my mind how I used to be a yes man,
And not because of how many times I said yes,
Because of how many times I said no..
to myself.
