A young turtle arrives during the nesting festival by the shores of Lake Namlolwe—MuNyanza.
The festival brims with quiet energy as waves lap against the shore. For the first time, she sees so many turtles gathered together in one place, their shells glistening under the moon’s silver gaze. A small voice rises within her: "Wow, I was never alone." The earth cradles this sacred congregation, holding space for pregnant turtles, each heavy with the future they still do not know.
She feels the pull of intuition—a knowing deeper than thought, a calling woven into her body’s ancient design. It’s as if her limbs follow a trail of scent, a pheromonic echo, but this capture carries no weight of constraint. It is a capture that expands, extending into the very curve of her shell. The body of the earth meets her as she settles into the nesting ground.
