AINAMOI SUPERSTAR'S FINAL MESSAGE BEFORE DEATH: "IF I DON'T SURVIVE, TAKE CARE OF MY WIFE"
Kalenjin musician Bernard Kiprono Sang, better known as Ainamoi Superstar, died on September 27, 2022, two days after he was allegedly assaulted following a performance at K2 Resort in Koriema, Marigat, Baringo County.
Court records state that the attack happened in the early hours of September 25, 2022. The prosecution alleged that Fanuel Kandie, also known as Fano, and another man identified as Torois assaulted the singer, leaving him with serious internal injuries.
After the attack, Bernard sent WhatsApp messages to his sister, telling her he could not pass urine and feared he was dying. In his final message, he wrote:
"If I don't survive, please take care of my wife Stella... Bye sis, I love you so much, sis."
He was admitted to hospital with severe abdominal pain caused by blunt-force injuries.
Doctors found a perforated duodenal ulcer linked to the injuries he had sustained. Despite treatment, he died two days later.
Following investigations, Fanuel Kandie was arrested and charged with murder. On November 3, 2025, the Kabarnet High Court sentenced him to 20 years in prison.
Torois was also arrested during the investigation but was later released.
Ainamoi Superstar was from Ainamoi Village in Emurua Dikirr, Narok County. He was an upcoming Kalenjin musician known for blending traditional music with contemporary love songs, including songs dedicated to his wife, Stella.
His death ended a promising career before he had the chance to achieve his dreams and provide for his family.

In the 1990s, President Daniel arap Moi tried to buy the Mt. Kenya vote through the "Central Kenya Development Group" chaired by SK Macharia. He poured billions into the region, expecting absolute loyalty in return. It failed spectacularly.

Today, by handing the Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) a thunderous, historic landslide victory of over 83%, the voters of Ol Kalou sent a clear message to State House: President William Ruto must stop reading the Moi manual.

The political reality that President Ruto is stubbornly ignoring is simple: in Mt. Kenya, the politicians do not direct the people. It is the people who dictate where their leaders must take them. The ground operates on its own terms, and no amount of state machinery or financial coaxing can force a community to follow a path they have rejected.

But the fire isn't just burning in Central; the ground is rapidly shifting in the President’s own backyard. The Kalenjin community are crying out over deep-seated neglect and broken promises. While President Ruto traverses other regions launching projects,and giving cash,his own people in the Rift Valley have been left stranded. From the Mau Forest evictees to the ongoing insecurity and bloodshed in Ang’ata Barikoi,where locals feel abandoned and defenseless,the Kipsigis community feels completely betrayed inspite of voting to William Ruto 99.99% in 2022.

The massive convoy of Kipsigis elders and locals who traveled all the way from Kericho, Bomet, Nakuru, and Narok to Rigathi Gachagua's Wamunyoro home yesterday was a political bullet fired straight at the heart of the Rift Valley. It sent a clear message: when a leader abandons his own home, his people will look for a sanctuary elsewhere. Gachagua’s Wamunyoro residence has become that sanctuary.

As the Kalenjin community's cries of neglect grow louder, Gachagua is steadily gaining ground, now easily commanding a potential 30% of the Kalenjin vote.

The self-proclaimed kingpins and featherweight politicians from Mt. Kenya whispering sweet nothings in the President's ear,assuring him that 2027 is locked,are acting as mere rent-seekers, eager to feed on his political fodder just like the opportunists of the 1990s did to Moi. By refusing to listen to his own people and his former allies, Ruto is steering his ship into a perfect political storm.
