I'm feeling extremely motivated to get back into drawing after watching one of my favorite artists (Kerby Rosanes) on YouTube. Although his style and overall meticulous detail-work far surpasses that of my own, I think we both have similar art styles. At any rate, I really want to start back up, but I'm still in the market for a proper desk chair, so until I have that I can't really do much other than stare at my desk (for now).

I've been approached by the creator of Black Creatives Japan to submit one of my art pieces as a raffle ticket prize for their upcoming event: "Showcase & Chill in Kita Horie". I printed a few of my pieces out, but have decided to submit this piece for now. All I really have left to do is to sign it and then mail it in (as soon as possible).

I have found myself in an artistic rut for some time now, so I've been searching Youtube for artistic motivation. I stumbled on this artist unexpectedly, but I really enjoy their art style and am thinking about trying it out for myself someday. Moved into a new apartment and have been focusing a lot of my work on interior design, lately. Bought this "Hanger Rack" from my local ニトリ and repurposed it for the kitchen. Still a lot of unboxing and tidying up to do, but I think the place is coming along nicely.

My work recently has been mostly digital, as I'm trying to make more interesting games for my students via card games, etc... I wish I could find some time to work on more drawings and physical art, but knowing these games will put a smile on my students' faces is enough to make it all worthwhile.

Just conceptualizing an idea for Golden Week and Children's Day. Not quite got it yet. ゴールデンウィークとこどもの日の為の概念の絵。まだあんまり良くない気がする。

I decided to get some practice using my new copic markers and learned two valuable lessons, last night.

#1) Use the right type of paper, and
#2) Don't leave too much time in-between when coloring in an area with one color.

Although I think the colors are great, I think that it was because I was coloring on thin copy-paper that I couldn't utilize the full blending potential and overall smooth spread of the colors. I'll know better next time. ;]
