Thank you .shop & for the invitation ! I had lots of fun & it was great to see artworks from other local artists, and meet so many cool people 🫶

About the Artwork

My process is very intuitive and spur of the moment. Recently I gravitate towards themes of nature, the personification of nature, and our place within it. Looking back, I guess I was feeling a need to ground myself, and the importance of staying grounded when aiming for growth, for something higher. Hence why I titled this piece “The Grass is Green Here” to refer to humanity’s tendency to seek the grass that is green on the other side, while not realizing that the grass below you or the world at your feet, can also be just as vibrant if we choose to see the good.

Anyways, that is just my interpretation and my thoughts while I was painting. The last two slides show the painting in it’s baby stages :)

Alot of crazy things happened this year that I did not expect but all in all I’m glad for the inspirations, beautiful people that I’ve met and above all to have stayed so (stubbornly) consistent with my creative process

Looking back at my artworks this year, I feel like pieces of the puzzle are coming together and my artistic voice is slowly forming. This year really taught me that things that are meaningful & beautiful take time, patience and nurturing. And to enjoy the journey of that beauty unfolding rather than push it with your own urgency and expectations. There’s so much that the universe tells through you and sometimes all you have to do is listen

Anyways I have many many new plans for the new year but for now it’s time for rest in the motherland 🫶🇯🇵
