I’m very sorry to share that, after a long illness, Jon passed away on Tuesday.

His cremation will take place at Tsukuba Memorial Hall at 10:00 a.m. on Friday March 6th.

Thank you to everyone who supported Jon during this difficult time.

Eleven new pieces. One medium pushed to the limit. Closing out 2025 with a look back at a year of experimentation. “Blood in the water” takes the top spot for me. What about you?

Finished last night, a new piece which I’m tentatively calling Blood in the Water. More abstract than some of my other pieces I’m imagining that I’m smearing large dollops of oil paint on a canvas and that the textures produced are what you would get.

Seems appropriate to finish this piece on Christmas Eve. Is it a sunrise or a sunset? It feels like a sunrise to me. So I’m calling it Sunrise over Tokyo. All made out of strips of soda cans as always as I continue my quest to show the beauty of things we discard without a second glance. Merry Christmas everyone! Enjoy it wherever you are.
