“THE QUESTION”
What if boundaries meant something else?
But something quieter.
Something that flows.
Something that connects.

A continent reimagined by what sustains us.

"THE LINE" 37.70°N–37.77°N 119.56°W–119.65°W

Nowhere else do contour lines fall so steep, then flatten so suddenly. This valley’s topography is dramatic—sheer granite walls rising near-vertically from a flat valley floor. These tightly packed lines tell of ancient glaciers, carving through rock with patient force. Few places reveal the tension between vertical grandeur and grounded calm so vividly.

This world map is made entirely of forest data.
A quiet reminder of what still connects us.

Can a color tell you something before words can?

This piece transforms over 170 years of global temperature data into a visual continuum.
Each stripe marks a year — from 1850 to 2023 — gradually shifting in tone, from cooler blues to warmer reds.No labels. No headlines. Just colors, arranged in time.

What if our planet were drawn in rivers?
This map visualizes the global river network — an intricate web of movement shaped by terrain, time, and gravity. From the finest tributaries to great watercourses, each line flows with quiet continuity across continents.

Drawn from satellite-derived hydrographic data, it reveals a portrait of Earth not in borders, but in currents.

What does the planet’s surface whisper in green?
This map visualizes Earth’s forest cover in a single frame — vast, continuous, and quietly intricate.
Based on satellite data, it traces the living patterns of global vegetation without borders or bias, capturing the organic geometry of nature as seen from above.

What do these shapes remember?
Each curve on this map marks the edge of Arctic sea ice, observed on the same day — September 1st — across 45 years, from 1979 to 2023.
Drawn from satellite data, the contours record not just distance or area, but time — the quiet rhythm of seasonal retreat and return.

River World Map visualizes the delicate and continuous flow of the world’s rivers, based on high-resolution hydrographic data. From winding tributaries to major waterways, each line traces the natural systems that shape our planet’s surface.

Using two-color silkscreen printing on certified thinned-wood paper, the piece brings data to life in a quietly expressive format — inviting viewers to contemplate the rhythms of water that connect landscapes across continents.

Arctic Ice Transition visualizes the seasonal minimum extent of Arctic sea ice over 45 years. Each contour traces the shifting ice coverage observed on September 1st from 1979 to 2023 — offering a visual record of long-term patterns in the Arctic region.

Printed with two-color silkscreen on certified thinned-wood paper, this piece translates satellite data into a crisp, minimalist visual — a quiet but compelling reminder of the Arctic’s transformation.
