Tokyo Music Bridge is a 2-day international music showcase festival and conference.

Even years: Two day international music showcase festival and conference, held in Tokyo (next is April 2028) Odd years: We travel - next stop is Savannah GA April 2027. This event will focus more on the mellower genres: singer-songwriter, dream pop, bedroom pop, semi-acoustic indie or alt rock, yacht rock, neo-soul, and similar. Day One - Performance Day

Three years ago, music bridge tokyo began with one simple idea: create real connections between artists and music communities. Since then, mbt has grown through the support of artists, venues, industry professionals, partners, and everyone who believes music is built through people.
2026 was our biggest chapter yet — and it’s only the beginning.

Odd years: We travel
In 2027, mbt Presents heads to Savannah, Georgia. We’re excited to keep discovering new scenes, learning from local communities, and building bridges one city at a time.

3年前、music bridge tokyoは「アーティストと音楽コミュニティをつなぐ、リアルな交流の場を作りたい」という想いから始まりました。これまで、アーティスト、ライブハウス、音楽関係者、パートナー、そして音楽を愛する皆さんの支えによって、mbtは少しずつ成長してきました。
2026年は、私たちにとって過去最大のチャプターとなりました。そして、ここからが新たな始まりです。

This is a closed, invite-only program and designed specifically for our performing artists and a carefully selected group of industry supporters.

Built around real conversations and practical exchange, we’ve shaped four focused panels reflecting the current realities of the independent music ecosystem.

Importance of Physical Media: A look at the continued relevance of vinyl, CDs, and cassettes, alongside the renewed impact of zines, flyers, and paper tickets as cultural touchpoints within indie communities.

A World of Music: A global perspective on artist development: engaging with international markets, approaching overseas touring, and understanding why even emerging artists benefit from thinking beyond their home scene.

State of the People: A grounded conversation on sustainability in music, covering mental health practices, managing pressure and negativity, and addressing ongoing structural challenges including sexism and ageism.

Lucky Bag Sessions: A curated set of short discussions touching on band dynamics, practical digital tools, community-building at the local level, respect for small venues, and other essentials that often go unspoken.

The most meaningful conversations rarely happen on the main stage. They happen in rooms like this.
