Mr.Brian Design（アーティスト）
ブライアン・パトリック・クインラン １９７３年４月１日、アメリカ合衆国ニューヨーク州プキプシー生まれ。
幼少時から視覚的なアート表現をするのを好み、14歳で本格的にアートの世界に没頭する。
16歳の高校在学中に、オリジナルTシャツを自らスクリーン印刷して販売するなど、アーティストとして最初の活動で成功を収める。その後ニューヨーク市に移り、ニューヨーク州立大学で美術学士号を取得。
卒業後は、トイ産業、特にプリスクールやベビートイなどのハードグッズを手がける会社のプロダクトデザイナーとして働き、そのキュートさとキャラクターデザインで好評を博す。同時にストリートカルチャーやファッションの分野でも活動を続け、コラボレートしたTシャツやステッカー、小麦のペーストを
使ったストリートアートを制作する。
アメリカのフィギュアシーンの先駆者でもあり、1999年にはBufalo Clubの名でハンドメイドのレジン製フィギュアをリリース。
2001年にはDJ DBとブレイクビーツ音楽のレーベルであるBreakbeat Scienceとのコラボレーションにより、Technics®ターンテーブルをコンセプトにした限定フィギュア「TECH HEADZ」をデザイン、制作をし全世界で発売された。
また、ニューヨークのアーティスト集団Alife（エーライフ）、Faile（フェイル）、伝説のラッパーBiz Markieなどにデザインを提供し、プロデュースしてきた。
2005年に来日。
バンダイや北米の玩具メーカー（Hasbro、Fisher Priceなど）にフリーランスとして働く。
2009年に「Mr.Brian Design」として活動を開始し。
エデュテインメント（教育＋エンターテイメント）の分野へと活動の幅を広げ始める。
2016年まで、ニーハイメディア（マンモススクール）のプロジェクトに参加する一方で、オリジナルのアートワークを制作し、ShipsやStussyを含むファッションブランドからデザインTシャツを販売。
現在ブライアンのデザインは、現在の居住地である鹿児島のKOGUやVoila coffeeなどで見ることができる。

Born: Brian Patrick Quinlan, April 1973, Poughkeepsie, New York, USA
Mr.Brian Design is an American artist who displayed a natural gift for the visual arts at an early age and began formal training in fine arts at the age of fourteen. By 16, having already had commercial success as an artist, screen printing and marketing original T-shirts, while attending high school, Brian eventually moved on to study
fine arts and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the State University of New York. He began worked in the kids’ toy industry as a product designer for hard goods, specifically preschool and baby toys, where his penchant for cuteness and character design was well received. Simultaneously Brian continued to work in the field of street culture and fashion, creating original and collaborative T-shirts, sticker and wheat-paste street art,
and was a pioneer in the American vinyl art figure scene. In 2001 by collaboration with DJ DB and Breakbeat Science he designed and produced the first ever independent, limited edition (sofubi) vinyl art toys based on the parts of the
Technics® turntables, TECH HEADZ. Brian subsequently designed and produced toys and products for other American artists and brands including; Alife, Faile, and Biz Markie. Brian moved to Japan in 2005 and began working as a freelance toy designer for Bandai. He continued working for Bandai as well as North American toy makers including; Hasbro and Fisher Price until 2009. In 2009 the artist began working under the name Mr.Brian Design and shifted his professional focus to edutainment (education + entertainment); printed goods, i.e., coloring books, text books, worksheets, and animation. Between (2009-2016) the artist worked on several projects for Knee High Media (Mammoth School) while continuing to produce original artworks and worked with fashion brands
including; Ships and an ongoing collaboration with Stussy (2014-2019). Brian has worked with local businesses in his home of Kagoshima, Japan with bicycle shop KOGU and Voila coffee.
