Girona 1-4 Arsenal (FT)
It was a great start to the pre-season—the playing style and the result were both spot-on. At the same time, the weak spots in the squad were clearly visible.
Max Dowman was as dazzling and elegant as usual. He showed promising signs that we can really rely on him this season. He scored one goal and provided an assist, both of which were absolutely brilliant.
On the other hand, Zollic (Zollicoffer) is fitting into the team nicely. His decision-making is sharp and firm. It feels like he’s the type of player who helps the team effectively just by keeping things simple and doing what needs to be done. He also got himself a goal.
Skelley’s performance in the pivot role was impressive. The kid's vision, ball-playing ability, and control are top-tier.
However, with Big Ben struggling and Timber not fully fit, it became glaringly obvious once again how weak Arsenal's right-back (RB) position currently is.
Since Bruno Guimarães is practically confirmed, our midfield has become much stronger. As for my personal wish, I’d prefer the board to reinforce the right-back position rather than signing another RCB.
Gabriel Jesus getting on the scoresheet is a positive sign for his transfer market value. Giving almost a full squad of young players match experience was another great takeaway from this game.
COYG, guys! I’ve been too busy to post news recently, but I’ve been keeping up with all the updates on X regularly.
The hope for Bruno Guimarães has finally come true, and now only Vini (Vinicius) remains. If that happens as well, we can genuinely hold huge expectations to sweep all the trophies this season!
