exiii designがデザインを担当した
新しい音響デバイス「SWIRE AURBIS」 のプロジェクトが始動しました。
SWIRE AURBIS は、
100mmの大口径スピーカーを「耳に装着しない」
という前提から設計したプロダクトです。
一般的に、100mmクラスのスピーカーは重量とサイズの制約からヘッドフォンとして成立させることが難しく、
耳や首への負担が大きな課題となります。
AURBIS ではこの問題を、
耳ではなく首で荷重を受ける構造とし、スピーカーを耳の近傍空間に配置することで解決しています。
従来のヘッドフォンが音を密閉し、細部を明瞭に再生することを目的とするのに対し、
AURBIS は、大口径スピーカーが生み出す空気の動きと音圧を、近距離で体験することを重視しています。
100mmスピーカーならではの低域再生能力により、映画やゲームにおける迫力ある音響表現を、周囲に配慮しながら個人で楽しむことが可能です。
ヘッドフォンでも、スピーカーでもない。耳をふさがず、耳の周囲に音場を形成する。
exiii designではこれまで、身体の一部となるようなプロダクトを通じて、
機能そのものではなく、人と道具の関係性をどのように再構築するかをデザインの軸としてきました。
SWIRE AURBIS もまた、
従来の音響機器における「装着する」「遮断する」という前提を見直し、
音と身体、空間との関係を再定義する試みです。

The project for "SWIRE AURBIS," a new acoustic device designed by exiii design, officially launches today.
SWIRE AURBIS is a product designed from the ground up with the premise of "not wearing" its massive 100mm drivers on the ears.
Generally, 100mm-class speakers are difficult to integrate into headphones due to weight and size constraints, posing significant challenges for ear and neck comfort. AURBIS solves this by utilizing a structure that transfers the load to the neck rather than the ears, positioning the speakers in the space immediately surrounding them.
While conventional headphones aim to seal the ears for precise detail, AURBIS focuses on the near-field experience of acoustic pressure and the physical movement of air generated by large-diameter drivers.
The 100mm speakers deliver a powerful low-frequency performance, allowing users to enjoy the immersive soundscapes of movies and games privately, without disturbing their surroundings.
Neither a headphone nor a traditional speaker. It leaves the ears open, creating a personal sound field in the air around you.
At exiii design, through products that become an extension of the body, our core philosophy has always been about reconstructing the relationship between humans and tools, rather than focusing on function alone.
