They matured and their voices deepened and harmony struck a chord among them. In time the composition of the group of four changed but not their commitment to bond persons tighter together with Jesus through melodiously harmonized messages in song. The current composition of the group has been ministering for the past four years and has adopted the name “Avódah” – a Hebrew term emphasizing their h
earts’ desire of “service to God”. Avódah aims to bless the hearts of individuals wherever they are called to minister and the Lord has been helping them to achieve this. A number of persons have reported that they have been blessed by the group’s ministry; to God be the glory! The members of the group are all baptized members of the Old Harbour Seventh Day Adventist Church in Saint Catherine, Jamaica. They are Andre Hinds, Troy Oliver, Jason Wright, Migel Anderson, Orane Richards, and Andre Forbes, all active in their local congregation as musician, as Praise and Worship team members, and in Adventist Youth ministry among other areas. These young Jamaican men are educators and tertiary students from several institutions including Northern Caribbean University. Shortly, Avódah will be releasing its first published works – a single – as the group spreads the gift of a crucified, risen Lord across the airwaves around the world in conformity with the Mission Statement of its parent group Avodah Ministries. That mission statement speaks to the group being “committed to and resolute in the spreading of the word of God through a combination of music and other forms of discourse in a manner that positively influences the lives of whoever experiences our ministry”. God has blessed them and they certainly have a message to share.
