Exhibited at February 2026 Exhibition - Walking With The Spirits

Title - 5 Jumbies of Jouvay - Moko
Size - 48 x 28 inches
Medium - Glass paint on repurposed television screen
Year - 2024

Description - This painting forms part of The Five Jumbies of Jouvay, a storytelling model exploring the cyclical stages of life and grief. Appearing at midnight, the Moko Jumbie is aligned here with the stage of depression. Moving through darkness with an elevated view, it charts a path forward with a vision of hope when we are unable to see beyond our current position.

❓What do we create when we build from a shared dream?

❓How do we collectively imagine when we are each mentally bound in different ways?

Co-imagining through play, difference becomes a creative force, not a limit.

This year, we’re opening space for shared exploration and immersive experiences.
Stay tuned to Kazillion Kollectiv for upcoming moments to imagine, make, and move together.

I first visited Kindred on the Rock with the PREE Writing Studio last year—this time I returned with brushes in hand. Kids and staff joined in, splashing colour like rain, spotting hidden animals in the shapes, and adding their own stories to the wall.
Stay tuned to see how the project developed 🌱🎨

Ink and Acrylic Paint on Gypsum Ceiling Tiles
4ft x 8ft

September 2022
Part of the " Soul Rebel Leaves the City of Orphalese " collection

Each piece from this exhibition grapples with themes of the self in relation to place, the impact of injustice on identity, and the role of inner resilience.

The exhibition begins with an unconventional medium: ceiling tiles, where the first works were completed. These tiles hang above the studio, guiding the production process below. In tandem, discarded television sets become canvases of reflective black glass, mirroring the ceiling installations and evoking the motif, “as above, so below.” The reflections create a dynamic environment, a push-pull of “coming and going,” which blurs the boundaries between creation and observation, movement and stillness.

This collection, with its dual media and layered reflections, is a visual meditation on the tension of having roots in places of conflict and embracing the liberation of moving beyond them. It speaks to the universal search for personal truth and the courage it takes to seek freedom, even if it means leaving familiar ground behind.
