My work on culture and gender include many discussions, publications and lectures about private patriarchy, i.e. how Jamaican men organize their intimate/domestic lives. I remain fascinated by Jamaican masculinities. If you want to understand how a Babymother stands in primacy above a Wife and can publicly declare same, read Chapter 2 of my book, Man Vibes, or attend one of my Lectures. The only woman who has primacy above Babymother Prime is his Mother. Dilly's life is not an isolated phenomena. Condolences to his extended family and friends.

I pause to recognize the passing of Robert Lee Malcom, known popularly as dancehall artiste Gully Bop, aka CountryMan who shot to fame and enjoyed his time in the spotlight. Thank you and your team for sharing your time and talent with us at our International Reggae Conference 2015 at UWI. So many persons were quite surprised to find out that Gully Bop was an intelligent and affable man. Pictured with Shauna Chynn and me; being interviewed by Ras Astor Black; and shaking hands with Roger Steffens while under the spotlight of local and foreign media. Fly Free Gully Bop. .
