Handler, Stilt walker, Content Creator and lover of Caribbean culture!

Antonio joined our community almost 2 years ago and has mastered the art of Handling and teaching stilt walking. He’s a lover of carnival culture and continues to grow as a stilt walker.

Antonio is learning to walk tall while already helping others find their balance and build confidence.

The journey is just beginning, but Antonio is already proving that being part of the movement means more than being on stilts — it’s about learning, teaching, creating, and lifting others.

Eight years ago today, on August 1 2019, Walking Tall Jamaica took its first steps.

What began as a dream has grown into a community rooted in CULTURE, CONNECTION and COMMUNITY—one that continues to remind us that our stories deserve not only to be seen and celebrated but carried forward.

There could not have been a more meaningful way to mark our anniversary than by joining Emancipation Fest at Emancipation Park.

As special guests, our characters brought smiles, inspired curiosity and laughter for children and adults alike, proving once again that masquerade, stilt-walking Caribbean storytelling still have power to captivate across generations.

Meet Walking Tall Member: Bree

This year Bree stepped into their first Carnival in Jamaica Road Parade embodying our JONKONNU character - MORASS - with strength, grace, and intention.

Draped in layers of lush greenery and elevated on short stilts, Bree became a living landscape; blurring the boundaries between human, spirit, and nature.

Their performance of Morass asks us to consider what is lost as Kingston grows, and how memory continues to take root beneath concrete, waiting to be remembered.

Bree’s quiet determination, commitment to the craft, and willingness to embrace challenging characters remind us that every member brings something unique to our collective story.

We’re so proud to witness Bree’s journey as they remind us that every journey on stilts is one of growth, courage, and transformation.

For more than two years, she has been part of the Walking Tall Jamaica family, growing in strength, confidence, and creativity.

She’s brought her energy to multiple events including 5Ks while developing her own distinctive artistic voice through costume design.

From Anancy’s Granddaughter to City Skyline, Johanna continues to transform ideas into unforgettable performances that celebrate imagination, culture, and movement.

This year marked a significant milestone where C. Jumbie represented Jamaica, bringing Moko Jumbie stilt walking to the international scene at New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.
