Scarecrows of Chapelton Annual Scarecrow Festival organised by the Community during the month of August in the village of Chapelton, Aberdeenshire.

Thank you so much to everyone who visited and donated this year it really was appreciated. We raised a total of £600 👏🏻👏🏻 and the money went to local charities chosen by the winners as below

Jet2Holidays - 1st place
£300 went to a new local charity - Sarah’s Sparkle, a charity set up in the memory of Sarah Bonnamy to support children and young people in the North East of Scotland

Dave the Seagull - 2nd place
£180 went to The Brain Tumour Charity the family are long standing supporters and raise funds regularly for the charity

Feathers McGraw -3rd place
£120 was donated to the SSPCA in memory of the makers beloved dog Nala who was rescued from their and loved seeing all the scarecrows on her daily walks

🎉 Chapelton Scarecrow Festival Winners! 🎉

A huge thank you to all our wonderful residents who took part in this year’s Scarecrow Festival, and a special thanks to everyone who visited and voted! 🗳️

The votes have been counted, and we are thrilled to announce the top 3 scarecrows:

🥇 1st Place: No. 49 – Jet 2 Holidays!
🥈 2nd Place: No. 11 – Dave the Seagull
🥉 3rd Place: No. 38 – Feathers McGraw

We’ll be in touch with the winners soon to organise prizes and find out which charities will receive a donation in their name. 💛

🌾✨ We hope you’re all enjoying this year’s Chapelton Scarecrow Festival! ✨🌾

For the last couple of weeks in August, we’ll be collecting donations for our local food banks.

📍 Donations can be dropped off anytime in the Red Telephone Box at Hume Square. Our little team will collect and distribute everything to those who need it most.

👩‍👩‍👧‍👦 Residents – please drop off whenever you can.
🚶‍♀️ Visitors – if you’re coming along to see the scarecrows, feel free to bring a donation too!

💰 You’ll also spot donation tins around the village for spare change (or notes!) – every penny helps.

🙏 All donations will go to charity after the event, with the charities chosen by our Scarecrow Festival winners.

Good Morning, just a heads up brae is closed today for a well earned day off, you have been keeping them super busy while visiting the scarecrows- back open tomorrow. We have put some voting slips, maps and checklists in the phone box for today.

Thank you so much to everyone who has come to visit so far, we have never had so many visitors and scarecrows, think we are at 57 so far with a few more to go out 👏🏻👏🏻

Remember to vote for your favourite’s 🗳️we also have some collection tins scattered about the village and one in brae, any money we raise gets donated to charity chosen by the winners of your votes. Happy Scarecrow hunting
