▫️🍂💙 We’ve been in the process of moving into our new home for a few weeks now and we’re getting close to the end! We saved my art supplies as one of the last things being packed up so tonight was the last time I created in this space. It’s definitely bittersweet since right here, in the middle of the living room, in the middle of our old apartment, is where I started my art journaling adventure. I’ll miss this place but I’m super stoked for what lies ahead. Happy journaling, friends! Next time you see me I’ll be broadcasting from my new “old house on the Danforth”. 💙🍂▫️

🦋📖♥️ How do I know when a journal is nearly complete? When I can’t fit a single thing more on my inside cover. 🤪

One of the things I love most about the Dylusions journals is that they basically have 2 covers. I have a tradition of using the inside one as a memory board of sorts…as I work in the journal I fill it little by little with bits and pieces. Some of the bits are scraps from projects, some are things I come across in my travels and I glue them in, and some are special mementos from my wacky little life.

This journal has taken a while to finish…maybe the longest so far since I started it way back in December of 2023 😳 Just a couple more layouts to go and it’s flip-through time again! For now enjoy this glimpse into my weird little world. Happy journaling, friends! ♥️📖🦋

🔹🏠🩶 In case you guys have been wondering where I’ve been lately, here it is! We closed on our new (old) house this week and I’m in love. 🥰 She’s been standing tall for nearly 120 years and we’re gonna do whatever we can to help her stay 120 more. Once I get my new art room set up (OMG SO EXCITED TO HAVE THE SPACE FOR ONE!) I’ll be back to posting regularly. Until then, I’m still around so keep on keepin on and happy journaling!! 🩶🏠🔹

🦋☮️🩷 I don’t know about you guys, but I tend to hoard my favorite things. I’m always telling myself to “save it for a more deserving project” or “it’s too cool to use all willy-nilly” and guess what happens? My favorites sit in a drawer…unused, hidden away, and quite sad. Soooooo…once in a while I force myself to USE THE GOOD STUFF!!! For this one I used some of my stash of coveted stickers and I’m so glad I did…they have a proper purpley home now. 💥🌀🩷 Hi friends!! I’m so glad I got the chance to try the brand new JournalDex cards from 🤩 The different shapes and styles are so inspiring and I had to try them all! I decided to showcase one of my favorite songs and have each shape represent one line of the lyrics. These babies held up to everything I threw at them…ink sprays, paints, embossing, watercolors, collage, and perhaps the occasional splash of 😉 They are SUPER fun to play with and you definitely need some in your stash! 🩷🌀💥

🎨🌈💙 I had a most wonderful weekend at headquarters taking my very first class with the lovely and I wanted to share with you some of my work! 🤩We made a gorgeous journal, learned tons of new techniques, ate delicious food (including cheesecake 🤤) and shared an absurd amount of laughs. There’s nothing quite like sitting in a room with fellow creatives and making art together. Can’t wait til next time, ladies! Happy journaling, friends. 💙🌈🎨
