When someone who is so important and so significant and lovingly benevolent is lost, it affects the region, the community, the family and friends who shared their lives and benefited so much from all that he was and all that he did.
We have sadly just lost such an enigmatic leader and model who did so much for so many for so long that he will be deeply and widely missed.
For nearly 50 years Richard Ge**er served the South Jersey community, the region through his networking, communications and travels that the impact of losing such a leader, public servant, friend, expert and professional is truly a tremendously emotional and powerful experience.
Beloved as a public servant, a Financial Advisor, and counselor and sommelier, a dear friend and important figure in the lives of so many in South Jersey, Rich Ge**er was a fabulous example of someone who did it all and enjoyed it. Rich in experience and knowledge he enjoyed the travel, the w**e, the festivities and of course, the good times that made him so admired.
It can surely be said that he enjoyed it all: An exemplary, pleasure filled life. Those of us whom he left behind are feeling the loss of a Joyful and influential part of our lives.
We are the ones that will suffer his loss; and we thank him for what he gave us, enriching our lives, sharing our best times in his utterly educated and inevitable style!
We will all feel the loss of one of our great friends who just can’t be replaced in our memories. Rich Ge**er was the epitome of the charming, good time, joy of life, “rat pack” kind of guy.

This weekend we are headed to the banks of the Mississippi river for the NOLA Funk Fest, where we will enjoy and party with so many of our friends who have performed at the Jersey Shore in recent years.
We will be making new friends and arranging for many of our best friends to come and be part of the Concerts on the Boardwalk and the Beach in Somers Point.
We will interview the Rock Hall of Fame and Grammy Lifetime Award Winner, George Porter, Jr. this week in anticipation of the tribute to George Porter, Jr and the Running’ Partners; one of South Jersey‘s favorites, Galactic, considered one of the greatest Funk bands in the world; Soul Project Nola, Ivan Neville and Dumpstaphunk, Bonerama, and an entire segment of traditional Cajun and southwest Louisiana music, The Funk Fest this weekend and the coming Louisiana Music and Heritage Museum will continue to keep the flame burning for all of us from the Mississippi River to the Jersey Shore!

In Somers Point the South Jersey Jazz Society brings one of the finest small town world class jazz experiences anywhere to both Gregory’s for evening and night sessions and the lovely little acoustically excellent Gateway Playhouse.
