Mae wedi bod yn ‘chydig o wythnosau anhygoel i’r tîm yn agor Sownd, a lansio digwyddiadau Sownd [ar safle] yma yng Nghymru.

Diolch i bob un sydd wedi ymweld â ni yn Fenis hyd yma, ac ar gors yng Nghymru.

Ymlaen â ni at y misoedd nesaf — ry’n ni’n llawn cyffro i groesawu mwy ohonoch chi ✨

It’s been an incredible few weeks opening Sownd, and launching Sownd [on site] here in Wales.

Thanks to everyone who’s visited us so far whether in Venice, or in a Welsh bog!

Bydd y digwyddiad cyntaf hwn yn cyflwyno tri ymateb byw newydd sbon at y safle a themâu’r prosiect, gan artistiaid Sownd, Manon Awst a Dylan Huw, y perfformiwr rhyng-ddisgyblaethol Anushiye Yarnell, a’r awdur-ymchwilydd Becca Voelcker.

Bydd bysiau am ddim yn cludo’r gynulleidfa o ganol Bangor a Pentraeth; gofynnwn i bawb ddefnyddio’r gwasanaeth hwn i leihau straen ar y safle.

The first event will feature three specially-commissioned live responses to the site and the themes of the project, by Sownd artists Manon Awst and Dylan Huw, interdisciplinary performer Anushiye Yarnell, and writer-researcher Becca Voelcker.

Free shuttle buses will provide transport to the site from Bangor city centre and Pentraeth; we ask that all audience members please take the bus unless otherwise arranged to avoid strain on the site.

Ein goruchwylwyr yw gwarchodwyr ein gofod amlhaenog. Yma i’ch croesawu, i sgwrsio ac i ofalu am y gwaith.

Dyma ymateb ein tîm cyntaf o oruchwylwyr wrth weld Sownd am y tro cyntaf, eu cartref am y pump wythnos nesaf.

Mae Sownd: Manon Awst + Dylan Huw ar agor o 10:00-18:00 o ddydd Mawrth i ddydd Sul tan 22 Tachwedd, fel rhan o arddangosfa gelf . Dewch i’n gweld ni yn Istituto Santa Maria della Pietà, Calle della Pietà, Castello 3703.

Our invigilators are the custodians of our multilayered space. Here to welcome you, to chat and to look after the work.

These were the reactions of the first group of invigilators upon stepping into Sownd for the first time, their home for the next five weeks.

‘Dyma wahoddiad i fynd yn s o w n d...’ / ‘S o w n d is an invitation to get stuck...’

Mae Sownd gan Manon Awst a Dylan Huw yn ddilyniant o dair stanza sy’n cyfuno deunyddiau organig a daearegol o ogledd Cymru a Fenis gydag ymyriadau geiriol, sonig a phensaernïol.

Gyda llwybr pren yn tywys ymwelwyr trwy’r gosodwaith, mae adlais yma o passerelle Fenis, llwybrau dros dro sy’n cael eu gosod mewn cyfnodau o lifogydd, a’r llwybrau sy’n ein galluogi i droedio tirweddau corsiog Cymru.

Ymdrochwch, myfyriwch, a phrofwch Sownd.

Sownd by Manon Awst + Dylan Huw is a sequence of stanzas combining organic and geological matter from north Wales and Venice with textual, sonic and architectural interventions.

As visitors are guided through the installation by a wooden boardwalk, there are echoes of Venice’s passarelle, wooden pathways constructed in times of emergency, and the raised paths that traverse Wales’ boggy landscapes.

Immerse yourself, reflect and experience Sownd.

Sownd is curated by Steffan Jones-Hughes and the project is supported by and . Cymru yn Fenis/Wales in Venice is commissioned and managed by Arts Council of Wales and Wales Arts International with support and collaboration from the Welsh Government and British Council.
