OzItaly Connecting native English speakers from Australia with Italian host families and schools

The aim of this project is bringing a bit of Australia to Italy and give Australians the chance to take a bit of Italy with them when they leave. It's the connection between Australians who are interested in discovering the “authentic Italy” and want to enrich their understanding of the Italian culture, and Italians who want to improve their English language skills and find out more about the wild

Australian world. OzItaly wants to give Australians the privilege of getting involved in the Italian daily local life and feel part of it, so as to establish new and rich connections and human relationships within the Italian reality. Also, the assistance and the guidance offered by the host family makes it possible for Australians to explore off the beaten path destinations and discover the local hidden gems of Italy. It’s an experience built around the pleasure of revelation, rather than around expectations. At the same time, this is an opportunity for Italians to improve their English skills in a familiar environment, so that the learning process becomes much more spontaneous, interesting, and motivating.

And she couldn’t have picked a better time to arrive… harvest season is in full swing! So, alongside discovering Italian life, she might even get the chance to roll up her sleeves and help pick a few grapes herself! 😉🍇

Meet Nicholas 🤗

In February, Nicholas moved to Italy to see if it could become his new home.

He joined the OzItaly program to start his journey in a simple and supported way. Staying with a host family with full board and accommodation, in exchange for a few hours of English conversation per week.

This has given him the freedom to explore Italy and focus on new opportunities 🇮🇹✨
