Some arias define an entire world. For 𝗦𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶, one track holds the key to this project.

“Yes, and it is ‘Ti sento, sì ti sento’ (I hear you, yes I hear you, my heart), one of Vivaldi’s most famous arias of his time. Muted violins produce a delicate sound in which you can truly hear the beating of the heart. Vivaldi must have been very proud of this piece, because he reused it in many other operas and even in a flute concerto.”

"Triumph was not only an element in the title, but just the right word to describe the excellent performance as well. Sardelli conducted with his customary expertise and in between the arias explained to the audience what was happening in the story, with some good-humoured quips on its confused nature. The Modo Antiquo orchestra played beautifully, with great precision and consistency to their sound."

𝗙𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗼 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗮 𝗦𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶 𝗼𝗻 𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗶𝗰𝗸.
Some choices are easy, others are impossible. For Sardelli, this album has more than one favourite, but one aria stands out for its emotional range and for the simple fact that it is a true discovery.

“It’s difficult to answer because I love more than one! But if I have to choose, I would definitely say ‘Amoroso, caro Sposo’ because it is a Vivaldi piece full of passion and excitement, but also hope. And then it’s still a new aria for the audience!”

Do you like the cover girl of our recording?

Choosing 𝑷𝒔𝒚𝒄𝒉é 𝒂𝒃𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒐𝒏𝒏é for the cover of Vivaldi: La Costanza trionfante degl’amori, e de gl’odii (RV 706-A) is determined by the woman’s intense and dramatic expression, which perfectly reflects the character and torment of Doriclea, the heroine of La Costanza. Throughout the drama, Doriclea is tormented by Artabano’s constant and brutal advances, but her anguish is never without hope. Finally, her torments will find a happy ending thanks to her constancy. Although chronologically later, this image seemed to us to be the perfect portrait of our Doriclea!

Scaldano il cuore le parole acute e molto approfondite di Gabriele Vitella sulla nostra Costanza Trionfante. Leggete solo cosa scrive nel capitolo III "Il suono di Modo Antiquo":
"Modo Antiquo ha costruito nel tempo un’identità sonora che è insieme estetica e filosofica: archi asciutti, articolazione netta, trasparenza delle linee come principio irrinunciabile. Non è un suono che “scalda” il barocco per renderlo più accogliente all’orecchio moderno: è un suono che lo rispetta nella sua geometria, che non arrotonda le asperità né ammorbidisce i contrasti, che non cerca la morbidezza dove la partitura prescrive durezza. Quarant’anni di lavoro nel repertorio barocco, con Vivaldi come asse portante hanno prodotto un organico che conosce questa musica dall’interno, che non ha bisogno di interpolarla né di spiegarla: la suona e basta, con quella naturalezza che è il risultato paradossale di un’applicazione lunghissima."
