A Roman Traditional Irish Music Band for weddings, events, concerts, fleadh, cèili and sessions!

The Shire is an all-Italian Irish traditional and Celtic music band, their repertoire is made up of jigs, reel, polkas, hornpipes, airs and songs. Going from more riveting moments to those more solemn and intimate, the band fits very well into concerts, church ceremonies, cocktails and wild night parties! Plus in over 15 years of experience in Irish weddings in Italy we became quite expert of how entertain the clients and how satisfy their request and help them to organize the musical part of the best day of their life. We’re the favourite choice for The Irish Club of Rome, The Irish Embassy in Italy and the Irish College, we played Irish music during the third time during the Six Nations in Rome, we also played for the former president Mary McAleese and opened for Andy Irvine. The line-up is usually composed by five people a guitar player and singer, a flute player, a fiddler, a button accordion, with help of a bodhran player in necessary other instruments may include banjo, concertina and harp.

Irish trad music is very active in Italia. For only the 2nd time in our festival history, we welcome a Irish band from Italia to Oulu. Benvenuti, tervetuloa, welcome, fáilte.

The Shire

Hailing from Italy, The Shire is an Irish traditional music band that brings the energy, warmth and spirit of Ireland’s living musical tradition to the stage. With heartfelt songs, reels, jigs and lively session tunes, the band delivers a spontaneous and engaging performance shaped by the atmosphere of the moment, rooted in authenticity and musicianship, and full of fun.

Their sound blends vocals, guitar, fiddle, flute, tin whistle and accordion, moving naturally between intimate melodies and driving dance rhythms.

Yläsiirtola Ramblers will open the evening concert at 21:30, followed by The Shire around 22:15.
