Donald Baechler (1956–2022) emerged in the same years and circles as Basquiat and Haring, yet built a visual language entirely his own - faces, flowers and globes rendered in a deliberately unsteady line, resting on dense collaged backgrounds.

His work today is held in the collections of MoMA, the Whitney, the Stedelijk, the Centre Pompidou and the Guggenheim, with a career spanning the São Paulo Biennial, the Whitney Biennial, and over five hundred exhibitions worldwide.

A recent auction result of $179,200 in New York has reignited international collector interest - a signal, we believe, of a market only now catching up with an already solid institutional history.

Federico Borroni’s (b. 1991) paintings begin with observation, then depart from it - branches, leaves and organic forms dissolving into rhythm and colour, becoming a language of their own.

In Selvatica (presented at Germinale 2025), this process turns to the wild edible plants that grow unnoticed at the margins, pairing painting with glazed ceramic sculpture in an imagined landscape.

As Diafano, Borroni’s solo exhibition, is currently on view at Gruppo BCC Iccrea, this selection reflects a research that continues to evolve with remarkable coherence.

Why Mimmo Rotella?

One of the key protagonists of post-war European art, Mimmo Rotella (1918 - 2006) transformed the visual language of his time through his iconic décollages.
