𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐢𝐪𝐮𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐅𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐝 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧 𝐚 𝐡𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠, where the roles of 'father' and 'mother' are often matched with that of 'man' and 'woman', with little space for diverse types of coupling and s*xual orientations. More recently, q***r constellations have started to become more available and tailored specifically for LGBTQ+ people.

𝐐𝐮𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐠𝐚𝐲, 𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐛𝐢𝐚𝐧, 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬, 𝐧𝐨𝐧-𝐛𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐲, 𝐧𝐨𝐧-𝐰𝐡𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐥𝐲-𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞, whose biographies have been shaped by life events while growing-up with genders and orientations that are not matching the normative status quo.
A constellation brings to light what can be seen, transformed and integrated and it may lead to a change in our self-perception.

Family constellation is a form of expressive therapy. It is done in a group setting and 𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐠𝐨𝐚𝐥 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐚 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 in someone's life, be it at a physical or emotional level. It's a ground-breaking methodology which doesn't involve our mind and what we understand intellectually about our personal story.

In the practical act, participants of the group are chosen to represent specific family members or aspects of our life (work, s*xuality, a physical symptom etc.), so 𝐰𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐚 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐲𝐧𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐦.

Family is a 𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐞𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐭𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩𝐬 𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐤 𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐜𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 that are taken on from our family system. It is a form of group that can be used to gain insight and information of your history, dynamics, and possible dysfunctional patterns.

The method has been developed by German therapist Bert , based on components of Gestalt therapy, psychodynamic therapy, as well as other influences. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐟𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐀𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧 practices, where Bert Hellinger spent a significant portion of his life as Catholic missionary.

The Unicorn is said to be 𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐥 𝐰𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐨𝐦 𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐛𝐞 𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐛𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐝. The struggle between Man and Unicorns thus becomes an allegory for 𝐌𝐚𝐧’𝐬 𝐚𝐦𝐛𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐝𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐌𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞; over the Divine Feminine. A mission that is doomed to fail and cause, as we know, much pain, suffering and destruction in the process.

This indomitable nature of pure, creative, female energy is found also in Yoga, and Ta**ra especially, with the name of 𝐊𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐢-𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐤𝐭𝐢. 𝐓𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐨 𝐊𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐢 𝐚𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐭, 𝐫𝐚𝐰, 𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 that lays at the base of the spine awaiting to be awoken.
Over the course of millennia, 𝐓𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐝 𝐚 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐢𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩 𝐮𝐬 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲, learning to work with her and inviting her to show us our true Power.

One way power can be accumulated is through 𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐧𝐞’𝐬 𝐬𝐞𝐱𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 Because, for men especially, excess s*xual energy tends to get stuck at the base of the spine, particularly in the groin region, 𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐮𝐜𝐡 𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐞𝐱𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠. Moreover, from a cultural and political point of view, in the West the condemnation of s*x and ma********on by Judeo-Christian morality has caused many people to associate s*x-positivity as a moral right and a political act of freedom and of self-expression.

In Ta**ra, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝑩𝒓𝒂𝒉𝒎𝒂𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒚𝒂, 𝐨𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐧 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐥𝐲 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐖𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐬 ‘𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐲’ 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟-𝐝𝐞𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐬𝐞𝐱𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞, actually represents a rich array of techniques that enable us to access this s*xual energy and move it around the body with a view to internalise it, accumulate it, and use it for manifesting a new reality.

Once this energy begins to accumulate and to circulate around the body, it 𝗯𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘃𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗲𝘀 (𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗸𝗿𝗮𝘀) 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗺𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗱. Once this information is accessed, we are given the possibility to alter our reality, thus changing our perception of the world (of ourselves and of others) and, consequently, find healing and solace.

Rainbows and unicorns are so intrinsically linked (the association is also a Victorian invention) that it's unsurprising that the magic creature started to appear on T-shirts and banners at Gay Pride around the world, with slogans such as '𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐬 𝐈𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐲' emblazoned under sparkling rainbow unicorns.”

The ever-changing and elusive nature of the Unicorn becomes, therefore, a powerful symbol for these inner struggles many of us have had to face since childhood.

Throughout history, 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗻𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗵𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 far and wide. The Greeks, Babylonians, and Persians, among others, gave the Unicorn the symbolism and meaning of mysticism, magic, health, and purity.

Because of this creature’s ph***ic horn, Unicorns have typically been used to represent 𝗮 𝘀𝘆𝗺𝗯𝗼𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗮𝗹𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 This is thought to be the reason why King James III chose a Unicorn as Scotland’s national symbol and Great Britain’s coat of arms features a Unicorn.

However, over time, the Unicorn 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗳𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 and certain folk tales tell of Unicorns magically turning into a female human form.

No wonder therefore that, in recent years, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗻 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗮 𝗺𝗮𝗷𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝗮𝘀𝗰𝗼𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗕𝗕𝗧𝗤+ 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆, just as much as the rainbow flag created in 1978 by Gilbert Baker.
