BEATLES PIN-UP SCREAMERS (Gordon Currie Ltd, USA, 1964)
Printed by Matthews Rotary Press Inc. of Los Angeles, these striking Beatles mini-posters (8¾ × 22 in.) featured original line-art portraits of John, Paul, George and Ringo by internationally known artist and caricaturist Gordon Currie.
The set was sold in a specially illustrated envelope at the height of Beatlemania. The same artwork was also issued as a series of small black-and-white promotional cards, while a in-store display poster announced: “Beatles Pin-Ups On Sale Here - Now!”

A Melbourne, Australia, all’arrivo dei noti urlatori Beatles, decine di migliaia di giovani sono stati protagonisti di una sfrenata manifestazione di isterismo collettivo. Controquanti ragazzi sono rimasti feriti. Ma la reazione di alcuni genitori di quei giovani di fronte a una tale dimostrazione di fanatismo è stata tempestiva e durissima: dopo aver sradicato a dovere i propri figli, li hanno trascinati dai parrucchieri e, legati i più recalcitranti alle sedie, li hanno fatti «tosare» eliminando così quelle orrende capigliature con le frange «alla Beatles». At Melbourne, Australia, upon the arrival of the famous Beatles, tens of thousands of young people took part in a frenzied display of collective hysteria. Many youngsters were injured. But the reaction of some parents to such an extreme demonstration of fanaticism was swift and severe: after firmly taking their children in hand, they dragged them to barbershops and, tying the most rebellious ones to their chairs, had them “shorn,” thus eliminating those dreadful fringe hairstyles worn “in the Beatles fashion.”

These pocket-sized “unbreakable” brushes featured embossed Beatles portraits based on photographs by Dezo Hoffmann, together with the iconic Beatles logo.
Sold for just 39¢, they came with a free “autographed” wallet picture card and catchy promotional slogans aimed at every Beatlemaniac.
