Happy to share my Anorak and Shorts designed for Timberland are out now to celebrate Earth Day. They are made of Recycled Nylon fibers and part of the brand’s initiatives toward sustainability.
Thanks Redress Design Award for the opportunity!

🌱💙 HAPPY EARTH DAY 🤎🌏

On this special occasion, we're excited to announce the drop of Redress Alum Federico Badini C.'s collaboration with Timberland and VF Corporation. The jacket designed by Federico is a garment-dyed anorak made from 100% recycled nylon, featuring subtle colour variations that make each piece unique.

Federico Badini Confalonieri, our Redress Design Award 2022 winner, is part of the Redress Alumni Network, which supports designers post-competition with valuable networking opportunities, education, and career development in sustainable fashion. This is me winning the Redress Design Award 2022. 🥳🥹
This is also the culmination of a long path, and passionate hard work, started back in 2013 into sustainable fashion, and that is not ending anytime soon. It is just a new beginning into a sector where you never stop learning and that I am immensely passionate about.
I am so much grateful to my family and friends who gave me the support I needed during those years to keep going, following my dreams even when it was tough.
I admire so much the Redress team and for founding such a positive organisation able to achieve so many tangible results to make fashion a better industry. It is also a wonderful community of alumni I am proud to be part of, people who believes in creating a more positive industry together.
And a big thanks to for this amazing prize and opportunity to work together, I am so excited about it!

Tailored coat with draped sleeve in soft recycled wool.
‘Micro-Rain’ BADINI C. FW22

🇬🇧
Traceability:
The main fabric is a premium recycled wool blend (70% recycled wool, 30% polyamide) from post-consumer wool garments collected and processed in Prato, Italy. While the polyamide helps obtaining the best
quality, the whole process is made in the same facilities, from recycling
garments to spinning, weaving and dying. A scientific study, called Life Cycle
Assessment (LCA), has been done on the whole production process to document
precisely the production impact concerning, among others, credentials such as CO2
emissions and Water consumption that scored with a considerably lower impact
than conventional production. The lining fabric is made in 100% cupro (a fibre
derived from cotton waste), sourced from industry production leftovers. The
custom zipper is made in Brescia province, Italy, with a recycled polyester
tape from plastic bottle collected in northern Italy and the whole garment is
stitched with 100% recycled polyester threads made in Germany.

Cappotto sartoriale con maniche drappeggiate in morbida lana riciclata.

Tracciabilità:
Il tessuto principale è realizzato
con lana riciclata (70% lana riciclata, 30% poliammide) da capi in lana
dismessi “post-consumo” raccolti e processati a Prato, Italia. La poliammide
aiuta a mantenere una qualità eccellente e duratura. L’intera filiera del
riciclo, filatura, tessitura e tintura vengono realizzate in un’unica azienda,
a Prato. Uno studio scientifico, chiamato Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), è stato
in Germania.
